Cognate with Tatar юка (yuka), Kazakh жұқа (jūqa), Kyrgyz жука (juka), Southern Altai јука (ǰuka), Kumyk юкъкъа (yuqqa), Uzbek yupqa, Uyghur يۇپقا (yupqa), Khakas чуға (çuğa, thin), Turkish yufka.
