From the editors

Welcome to the sixth Bugle for 2020!

Last month was relatively quiet: the article news section comprises only ten works but all worthy additions to the MilHist showcase. Notably, three of these articles were developed by Gog the Mild, and two each by Hawkeye7 and Peacemaker67. A large number of A-class reviews are currently open, and the nominators would appreciate comments.

Meanwhile, the book reviews section sees Nick-D discussing a useful addition to the Osprey library, plus there's the usual round-up of recent reviews of military works published elsewhere.

Awards and honours

  • There were no awards last month.

Contest department

  • The May episode of the article improvement contest attracted eleven participants, with an impressive total of 113 articles being improved. First place went to Kges1901 with 229 points from an impressive 36 articles and he was awarded the Wikichevrons. Parsecboy came second with 219 points from 29 articles, for which he received the Writer's Barnstar. Also scoring were Catlemur, Chetsford, Djmaschek, Gog the Mild, Harrias, Hog Farm, Lineagegeek, Peacemaker67, Sturmvogel_66 and Zawed. Congratulations and thanks to all participants. You can self-assess up to C-class for the contest, but B-class assessments need to be done by another editor. This is best organised by posting at WP:MHAR. Make sure to add your entries for the June contest as soon as they are promoted, this allows the coords to check them progressively.
