WikiProject Cyprus

Hello and welcome to WikiProject Cyprus, a WikiProject designed to make collaboration and improvement of articles related to Cyprus and Cypriots easier and more effective. This page and its subpages contain the suggestions of Wikipedians who are interested or have made substantial contributions to articles related to Cyprus; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there.

For more information on WikiProjects, please see Wikipedia:WikiProjects and Wikipedia:WikiProject best practices.

Scope

WikiProject Cyprus came into being on July 23 2006, when a group of Wikipedians realized that they had the opportunity to collaborate in a more organized and effective way on articles pertaining to Cyprus and Cypriots. However, participation is not only limited to Cypriots; Wikipedians of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are more than welcome to participate. This Wikiproject is here to expand any current and future Cyprus related articles, and to also bring articles within the scope of this Wikiproject to a better quality level.

Members

The full list of project members is located on a separate subpage; please feel free to add your name to it, if you would like to join the project! Just like any other WikiProject, WP:Cyprus is always looking for new members to help expand.

Adopt an article

Petra tou Romiou, near Paphos

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles WP:CYP has produced.

Showcase

The following is a listing of articles within the scope of this project that have been noted for their outstanding quality.

The project does not claim any authorship or credit for creating these. While many were written by members—sometimes with input from the project as a whole—others were created by uninvolved editors, or predate the existence of the project itself, and are listed here merely because they fall within our scope.
