edit

Koov, who has long been banned, used to keep a huge farm of socks (Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of Koov, Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Koov, Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Koov (2nd), Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Koov (3rd)), so this would be nothing unusual. Koov, his socks and PakRom64 share an obsession with Kosovo and foreign relations templates as well as nearly identical style of edit summaries. Colchicum (talk) 18:30, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Similar username and editing habits to recently-blocked sockpuppet RohilPCS (talk · contribs). Account created two days after RohilPCS was blocked. Both editing on articles and templates related to international recognition of Kosovo.

Specific edit that led me to look into this: RohilPCS added a People's Republic of China flag on Template:Overseas Chinese [4]. I removed the flag and a Republic of China flag for the reasons discussed at WT:ETHNIC/FLAGS. HelloRohil reverted my edit [5]. cab (call) 05:00, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Using the same style as the other banned sockpupets of Koov. Very similar edit history as well. Editing Template:Foreign relations of Kosovo, People's Republic of China–Kosovo relations and other sites regarding Kosovo. He even tried to make a deal with me just so he can keep his edits on the Template:Foreign relations of Kosovo because I realized who this could be. He is also Pro Palatine and Anti Kosovo just like Koov. I asked that this be looked at to make sure this is one of his sockpuppets. Nhajivandi (talk) 06:08, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nhajivandi I know that you suspect me of being the banned User:Koov. But I told you everything that you need to know on your talk page. I am aware that you suspected me of being Koov but the problem is that I had forgotten to log on to my account. I am very sorry. I should have logged on as soon as possible then you would have known that I was not the one. I am very sorry. Next time when Iam not on my home computer, I will log on using my password and then there will be no problems at all. User:MyRx talk 9:27 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Also Nhajivandi even if the banned user was anti-Kosovo and pro-Palestine it doesn't matter because as I have told you in your talk page, I can't accept these edits because of the fact that you can't just change an isolated article like this and make it your own. I mean come one why not change the articles of Armenia-Kosovo relations and Bosnia and Herzegovina-Kosovo relations as well. But you didn't at all and instead left them alone. Why only change one article. I think either these articles should be left alone or an arbitration should be made between the two of us. User:MyRx talk 9:53 23 February 2012 (UTC)

I may have the same edits as the sockpuppets below but I am not that person and don't try to ban me from Wikipedia. As I have said I had asked Nhajivandi to just accept my proposal on both Kosovo and China. That is all I had ever wanted and that is all that I had needed. I just want that to change. I mean we all know that China and Russia will never ever ever recognize the independence of Kosovo. Nhajivandi needs to calm down a little bit and he just needs to either change the article of People's Republic of China-Kosovo relations by just simply redirecting the article into People's Republic of China-Kosovo relations. That is all there is and if he just does it, then all will correct. User:MyRx talk 10:06 23 February 2012 (UTC)

I am not the banned user Koov because the other user User:MynameisR is also not a banned user. Even though that person is suspected, he or she has not engaged in any edit thus far and has done nothing at all. I am the same thing. So what if I am Pro-Palestine and Anti-Kosovo. I am trying to be fair. If you look at Nhajivandi's repeated edits on People's Republic of China-Kosovo relations you see that he continues to believe this his and only his edits are correct. Well that is not true. That article can either be redirected or it can be deleted. But he has done nothing. He wants to only change that article but he did nothing on these articles such as Armenia-Kosovo relations and Bosnia and Herzegovina-Kosovo relations. Why he does it for one article still puzzles me. So it is up to you people at Wikipedia to convince Nhajivandi to change his policies on Kosovo and China. His edits are not correct and they must be reverted only for those things. User:MyRx talk 11:35 23 February 2012 (UTC)

My editing is based on nerturaly and I Do my best to be an honest editer. Always! However, Your edits have been bias and are not nertural and you are not honest at who you are. You need to realize what your doing is wrong. You have been caught Koov red handed this time. Oh and btw, the only reason of my repeated edits on PRC-Kosovo relations is to clean up your mess on that page. I apologise if I broke any regulations there. Accused parties may also comment/discuss in this section below. See Defending yourself against claims. Fine I will not edit the one about Canada again. But the one about China had to go anyway because I had made a deletion request. I had found out that it was similar to the one about International recognition of Kosovo and the part about China which were the same things. So Nhajivandi, I will keep the others intact but I don't think you or I can do anything about China and Kosovo because that was redirected. I think that I had gone too far in trying to remove Canada and everything else as well. I did go too far Nhajivandi and as a result you would never have called me a sockpuppet if after the China-Kosovo article was deleted and I had removed that from the Kosovo Foreign relations template. So never again will I edit the Foreign relations template. I am sorry that I had caused you and other people of Wikipedia any harm. I should have stopped after the China and Kosovo article was redirected and I should have only deleted that part in the Kosovo Foreign relations template. So I was careless and it will never ever happen again. Thank you. Rokoop talk 1:09 17 March 2012 (UTC)

This editor appealed an autoblock on UTRS, and become very agitated over a request for more information as well as contradicted himself (claiming that they "don't really use [Wikipedia] that much" and then that "the users of [redacted] need to use it as soon as possible"). Further, the editing history of this account has repeated some edits by Rofit (talk · contribs), who was recently blocked as a Koov sock. Despite the loud quacking, I would prefer that the situation be reviewed by my fellow admins. --Chris (talk) 19:13, 6 April 2012 (UTC) --Chris (talk) 19:13, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The IP was previously blocked for 3 months as a sock of Koov. It has since reappeared, with a very similar editing style and interests. Overlapping articles are quite diverse: New York street cars and diplomatic relations (particularly focused on Kosovo.) Pepe1x1 (talk · contribs) has the same username format (ending in 1x1) and very similar interests as prior socks. This account was created by PepeEscobar (talk · contribs) after this account was blocked for using a disallowed username. TDL (talk) 16:25, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

His first edit is to create his userpage containing his username and some images: [12] vs [13]. Same unique interests as past socks; articles with edits overlapping with confirmed socks: Template:Foreign relations of Iraq, F (New York City Subway service), The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, List of Muslim astronauts, Jalal Talabani. Here he restores an edit of a past sock which had been reverted.

The IPs resolve to New York, as do past confirmed socks, and are editing articles which past (and current) socks did. TDL (talk) 20:37, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've requested that these pages be semi-protected due to persistent sock puppetry by Koov, but I was told that this is not a valid reason for protection. Surely there's a more efficient way to deal with persistent sockpuppetry from ips and newly registered accounts then having to repeatedly revert and file SPI reports? What a coincidence MyRohil, Koov usually edits from the Queens Public Library as well! ([32], [33], [34]).
Seriously Koov, nobody is going to buy that story. If you want to return to editing you should restrict yourself to only your main account (User:Koov) and consider the standard WP:OFFER. Six months of no socking and you can be back in business. However, if you continue socking you'll just keep getting blocked and all your edits reverted on sight for block evasion. I am not the suspected Sockpuppet Koov, Danny. I am just a user at a library who had just created an account. I may have edited the one about Afghanistan and China, but that was just because I didn't like the way the article was organized in the first place. I order to clarify this I am not the banned user Koov. I don't know him or her. I just happen to be a user at the Queens Library branch at Glenn Oaks. I only use Wikipedia as a first timer. I'm not sure what the best thing to do here is. The IPs all geolocate to the Queens Public Library, which is where Koov always edits from, so any range block is likely to have significant collateral damage. However, given that the IPs are doing a lot of serious damage (copyvios) across a wide range of pages, I'm not sure that protection would resolve the issue. Account created one day after last sock was blocked. Username similar to past socks Josip1x and Rofit. Similar behaviour to past sock. First edit is to create userpage containing username: [128] vs [129]. Similar interests to past socks: international relations ([130] vs [131], [132] vs [133], [134] vs [135], Russia–Palestine relations, Template:Foreign relations of Russia) and New York, especially public transit ([136] vs [137], [138] vs [139]).

This edit by 63.116.61.253 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) is clearly Josfitt continuing this edit war. The IP geolocates to the Queens Public Library, where a past sock has admited to be editing from. Also, compare this edit with this by a past sock. TDL (talk) 04:11, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The user is changing pictures in New York City Subway articles' infoboxes (e.g. this edit by 7 TrainRK vs. this edit by now-blocked sockpuppet R1887). The user coincidentally has other topic overlap with confirmed sockpuppets, such as this edit to Template:Politics of Russia. The username is also similar to other confirmed socks such as R1887 and R188 7 train, and based on that, the edits seem very suspicious. epicgenius (talk) 12:35, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Observations:

  • The user name is similar to other socks, which have referred to the 7 train (e.g. 7 TrainRK, R188 7 train, R1887).
  • Edits to the captions of infobox images in NYC Subway service articles (Mr7Train vs other socks: 1, 2)
  • Edits to foreign relations articles (Mr7Train: 1, 2 vs other confirmed socks: 1, 2, 3)

Based on this, I think the Mr7Train account looks very similar to other Koov socks. epicgenius (talk) 22:37, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Username includes "7 train" (similar to other socks). The very first edit was to create a link to 7 (New York City Subway service) on the userpage. This is very similar to a recently blocked sock, Mr7Train, whose first userpage edit was the exact same content. I should note that this first edit was 6 hours after Mr7Train was blocked. Mr7Train was blocked at 10:08, 20 September 2018 (UTC), and the edit to My7Train Service's userpage was made at 16:07.[reply]
  • The very second edit was to revert an edit by Davidng913 (who is not the subject of this report). Davidng913 had added a new image to the infobox, which was promptly reverted by My7Train Service. The edit summary was Fine keep this image here and have the same one on the other article. which suggests that My7Train Service has been involved in this dispute before. Similar edits were made to the R46 (New York City Subway car) article, where My7Train Service changed the infobox image to the same image used on the A train's article.
  • Based on page history and edit summaries, I think the IP users 67.250.25.61 and 2604:2000:988d:1300:4074:c04d:667f:12f8 may also be sockpuppets of Koov, but I am not sure. Both edits removed the usage of this same image that Davidng913 added. 67.250.25.61's edit summary was But this image is just fine. It is not that controversial. Let us leave it as it is. 2604 et al.'s summary was But Davidng913 I think you are wrong. This picture is already used on the R46 subway car article. So leave it like this.
  • The IP users 2604:2000:988d:1300:914e:bb30:398e:4ad3 and 2604:2000:988d:1300:f0ba:f96:f21c:31f6 also made edits to R46 article, changing the infobox image, with edit summaries addressing Davidng913 as "Dave". That's what My7Train Service did here. There are several other dynamic IP addresses under a similar range that made similar edits with similar edit summaries, but these are over a month old, so I'm only including the most recent sockpuppets.

As a side note, if these users are found to be sockpuppets of Koov, then semi-protecting the A (New York City Subway service) and R46 (New York City Subway car) articles might solve this issue. epicgenius (talk) 01:08, 23 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Similar interests to confirmed sockpuppets:

It may also be worth noting that 67.250.25.61 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) has edit-warred to restore an image that this user put on the R (New York City Subway service) article: [177], [178], [179], vs Transportation 7 Train. @Bbb23: Here's a more complete comparison. epicgenius (talk) 03:15, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Similar interest in editing "foreign relations" pages, like Koov socks:
    • Subway NYC64: 1, 2
    • Confirmed socks: 1, 2
  • Afterward, edits to change infobox image in NYC subway service articles, like Koov socks - claiming that since an image is "already used" on another article, that it should be replaced:
    • Subway NYC64: 1, 2
    • Confirmed socks: 1, 2, 3, 4

This may be a little old, but the suspected sockpuppet has a similar interest in NYC Subway articles (changing the image here with the summary "Whats wrong with this picture anyway?") and Eastern European international relations articles ([190], [191]). This can be compared to confirmed socks (subway: [192], [193], [194]; international relations: [195], [196], [197]).

Additionally, I suspect the username is a subtle attempt to evade detection, as previous sockpuppets have used some combination of the 7 (New York City Subway service), R188 (New York City Subway car), and the name "Rohil Koov" or an abbreviation of such in their username. Flushing, Queens, is a locale where the 7 train travels, though this in itself was not enough to substantiate my suspicion of sockpuppetry until I saw the user's other edits. Koov is back using Queens188 Street and like his or her other accounts has been removing Kosovo-related links and articles from navboxes, Template:Foreign relations of India, and blanked the Brazil–Kosovo relations article with an odd edit description of "(Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is the new President of Brazil and Jair Bolsonaro is gone." Might be a reference to current events but it doesn't justify the removal/blanking. On International recognition of Kosovo for the B section of countries starting with this letter, for Brazil, they added the article content into this section and removing the link to the article with the similar edit description of "Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is now the President of Brazil." A previous sock, User:RussGreekMexican, blanked the India-Kosovo back in June 2022. Upon looking through the history of the India-Kosovo article, I found a blocked user account, MishinMitsotakis, that has the same pattern of editing and almost the same style of user page content as Queens188 Street. While MishinMitsotakis is blocked for disruptive editing, it should be tagged as a sockpuppet of Koov. WikiCleanerMan (talk) 14:48, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the user name of Queens188 Street is similar to that of, Flushing Girl, 192 Street House, Fresh Meadows 193, Fresh Meadows House, NYC6x7x, Subway NYC64, and several other NYC-related names. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 14:56, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCleanerMan is lying. Just because I changed these articles like on Brazil and India doesn’t mean that I’m a banned sock puppet Koov. I don’t know who Koov He/She is. Period. I just mentioned that Lula and Bolsonaro have different positions and regarding that several articles made by Noonicarus were deleted or redirected. Edit history doesn't lie. Care to explain the last revision of Flushing Girl's user page before it was tagged and how you have the same set of links to the articles: Flushing, Queens, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, New York City Subway, 7 (New York City Subway service), A (New York City Subway service), N (New York City Subway service), Q (New York City Subway service), Flushing–Main Street station (IRT Flushing Line), and Queens College (CUNY). And the same link to a Facebook profile? There are no lies here. Just you claiming that I am. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 18:05, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Really WikiCleanerMan, I used those Facebook pages because they are my friends. Ok. As for those Wikipedia articles, I live in New York and I sometimes take those train lines. Period. Really WikiCleanerMan. You have no proof at all. AS for the Kosovo part I removed sometimes, I make many mistakes as for that Kosovo article that still doesn't prove that Im Koov. You have absolutely no evidence against me except for a few edits. If I had removed Kosovo, it's just a simple mistake which can be corrected anyway by another editor. You are lying as ever WikiCleanerMan. Any other editor can simply change it. There that's it. Queens188 Street (talk) 16:48, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Besides it may be just my mistake. Anyway I did not harm or edit any other articles. So leave me alone WikiCleanerMan. You are lying as ever. Queens188 Street (talk) 16:50, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

MishinMitsotakis is already blocked anyway. That user is the one that is really Koov. I’m just a new first time user. The user page says it all. It is the same as the last account of this person who continues to think they won't be caught by anyone on here. If someone checks the navbox, Foreign relations of China, there has been a campaign by anonymous IPs to remove the China-Kosovo article from there. This means this was done by this LTA user, Koov, who continues to use NYC-related user names and the same set of links on the user page. WikiCleanerMan (talk) 03:09, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This new user account of Koov readded the emblem of China before I reverted it. At first, thought this was a new user. But upon looking at the user page for this account it states: "Odell Beckham Jr. - An Ugly Grizzly bear and an Animal. A failed player. Klay Thompson, Nazem Kadri, Justin Verlander, and Kellyn Acosta are all better than this failed stupid looser!!!!!!!"

One of the previous socks I reported, Queens188 Street had edited the pages of Klay Thompson with the edit summary of "He has the best Twitter ever." And added the Twitter account links to Verlander, Kadri's, and Acosta's external links sections on their articles. It wouldn't make sense for a new user to have something written like this on their userpage unless it was random. But this isn't a random addition to a page.

And the userpage states "I live in the North American Continent somewhere in New York, Ontario and Quebec." Given this user's past user accounts with NYC names, it's obvious the New York element of their tactics whether names or information hasn't left their editing habits. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 21:49, 18 February 2024 (UTC) WikiCleanerMan (talk) 21:49, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That guy couldn't reach full potential as a player. The others had better luck. But Olusegun Obasanjo is different. As for where I live that's none of your business. Okay I just edited but y'all know that it was only about making those templates including the one about China more decorative. I thought that without the coat of arms they look very ugly.
