Suspected sockpuppets

edit

Similar edits on Antipodean Resistance, a nasty little club for neo-Nazis. Both accounts have attempted to add a "flag" for this group. [1][2] The old version has been deleted, but if memory serves, they are identical.

Both also demonstrate familiarity with the slightly less obscure neo-Nazi group Atomwaffen Division also.[3][4] Grayfell (talk) 23:00, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like this might be the older account, as it added similar content starting in July,[5] having edited the article itself in September.[6][7]

RassenKrieg was hard blocked for username violations, while EchoUSA was blocked for extemist neo-Nazi and fascist advocacy on the userpage. Grayfell (talk) 23:07, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Upload the image on his own work, about the flag of Antipodean Resistance, an Australian Neo-Nazi group, this edit about the Antipodean Resistance in the country Australia. SA 13 Bro (talk) 00:30, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I commented about this user on User talk:SpacemanSpiff, where I wrote:

Earlier this month, you blocked User:EchoUSA as WP:NOTHERE. This is the guy whose talk page, which was deleted at MfD, had a list of neo-Nazi organizations with their logos, which for the most part he had drawn himself (based on logos appearing on websites) and uploaded to Commons (most of which have now been deleted). Now we have another editor. User:GaiusoftheJulii, who started editing on 24 November (EchoUSA was blocked on 6 November), has made a number of edits to List of neo-Nazi organizations , and who uploaded the flag of the Antipodean Resistance [File:Antipodean-Resistance-Flag.png], a neo-Nazi group. I've nominated the flag file for deletion as a copyright violation. Considering everything, this new account appears to me to be the same person, socking. Could you look into it? [8]

It's worth noting that an earlier account of EchoUSA was User:GrahamHughey, whose user page was similar to EchoUSA's, featuring a list of neo-Nazi groups with their logos. The connection was determined by that account name being listed as an alternate account on an early version of their talk page, as explained in this thread from User talk:TonyBallioni. Since no checkuser was run, it's uncertain still if there's a connection between GrahamHughey/EchoUSA and User:DrawingLol (which at one point CU blocked by Drmies) or User:PerfectlyIrrational, DrawingLol's master.
At this point, as I commented to SpacemanSpiff, the evidence is highly suggestive of a connection between GrahamHughey/EchoUSA and GaiusoftheJulii, so a check should be made for sleepers. Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:00, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that CUs balk at casting too wide a net, but brand new (as of 27 November) editor User:JustAPoliticalNerd -- and the other two accounts they created at the same time User:RegularPoliticalNerd and User:JustARegularPoliticalNerd [9]-- should be looked at as well, on the strength of edits to Nationalist Front (United States) [10] adding logos, and POV edits to other neo-Nazi articles. (see contribs) Beyond My Ken (talk) 07:49, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I added User:JustAPoliticalNerd to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/PerfectlyIrrational shortly after I opened this SPI. There are some differences, but the more these two edit, the more plausible it seems that they are the same. I will add these two new names to that SPI, although it may be a formality. I don't know if this is relevant or not, but in the ongoing SPI sock-disruption (by "xxxxChkUsr" accounts and fake admin-like names) many SPI reports were hit, but this one seems to be of particular interest to the vandal. I'm wondering if there's a connection. Beyond My Ken (talk) 11:06, 7 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Other SPI case were attacked earlier than this case, such as Liborbital's case, which was attacked on 2017-12-01T13:56:22‎; based on the page history of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Cases/Overview ([11]), seem the sockmaster of the impersonation accounts were just work(vandal) the same order as the list of the case from top to bottom. Thanks for that information. Beyond My Ken (talk) 18:01, 7 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

My comment on me being a sockpuppet suspect

edit

This has been going on for way too long now. At first I was banned (for a few months) on false charges of using sockpuppets, when the reason I had another account is that I had forgotten my login credentials. When the ban expired, I logged in and guess what? That's a 1 day ban for logging in on a sockpuppet. What do you expect me to do other than create a new account? GaiusoftheJulii (talk) 02:13, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@GaiusoftheJulii: So, what where the names of those other two accounts, the one you lost the log-in for, and the one which had a "1 day ban for logging in as a sockpuppet"? And if you were blocked for logging in as a sockpuppet, presumably for block evasion, doesn't that mean that you're a block-evading sockpuppet now? Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:43, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So this user has now admitted to creating multiple sock-puppet accounts. They have also, apparently, been previously blocked for ban evasion, and have refused to explain which accounts were previously blocked. This is not a WP:VALIDALT, this is disruptive sock puppetry. Grayfell (talk) 03:24, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • It looks like this is probably also SPI/Hyperboreangiant. Drmies filed that as a formality, since neo-Nazis tend to linger. That user was originally banned for egregious personal attacks. WikiHeathen, (Hyperboreangiant's checkuser-confirmed sock), included shouting and sarcasm (and antisemitism) in their last edit summary, so this fits that overall profile and more recent behavior.
Based on edit history, this was probably also Tiwaz1488 before Hyperboreangiant. That user was blocked for edit warring and username violation (the Tiwaz rune and 1488 are both neo-Nazi signals). The Tiwaz rune is used on the Nordic Resistance Movement's flag, and all of these socks have made similar edits to that article, with a particular focus on adding minutia to the infobox.
