Actually, you may be able to claim grandfather rights to the username if you created the name before the relevant policies were created, as seen here. Hope this helps. Set Sail For The Seven Seas 230° 21' 30" NET 15:21, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Who has the final say on these things? I clearly don't want to be difficult about it but equally would quite like to keep my username. Wikipediatastic (talk) 15:26, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The only "final say" would occur if an request for comment-user name was filed. For now, you can just inform the editor that you created the username before the policy was amended to include organization names and you wish to keep the username, but suggest they file at WP:RFC/N if they still have concerns. –xenotalk 15:37, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am also fine with the current username. Useight (talk) 21:08, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Picking nits, but you didn't actually say you thought it was fine, just that it might be protected under a grandfather clause ;> –xenotalk 20:14, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No forgetting intended, it was just more of a "these are the people that could do it, but won't, making it a de facto decline". Nothing personal. :) EVula // talk // // 06:21, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your consideration SmokeyJoe, but I'm fine with remaining blocked so the procedure can be completed more orderly. I did request the deletion of the usernames in that category as well, but I really only want my personal identity to not be on Wikipedia any longer, so I'm in full consent with the decision to rename the category and the usernames (what they're renamed to doesn't matter to me). Not to seem like I want to speed this discussion up in my favor, but I agree that the best decision in this scenario is to go about the renaming process so your surveillance of me and the evidence of my actions isn't at all hindered. Most of the users that were told of this discussion by Nihonjoe were retired or semi-retired too, while another user posted anonymously in the categories for discussion page, so I predict that the discussion is already mostly over. I brought this on each of you so I am obliged to agree with the quickest and most efficient way to resolve this. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.208.41.91 (talk) 22:50, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Darin. I see that you have an internet reputation that goes beyond Wikipedia. Are you now promising to stop being deliberately annoying just here, or everywhere? I am guessing that you have now realised that a negative reputation associated with your real name is an ongoing burden for both your personal and professional life. In any case, regardless of your sincerity and commitments, I think we should agree to remove/replace/hide your real name. I'm sorry that you feel Wikipedia is unacceptably dominated by an anti-capitalist sentiment, but wish you well for your future. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 23:19, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
With respect I'd appreciate it if you didn't presume things of me from what you might find on the internet. Because of anonymity anyone can do whatever they want to anyone and be whoever they want without consequence on the internet, which is also why it's so communist, and why so very, very little value is ever produced by it. People just need enough hate and time and they can attack anybody on the internet, and you can do little in defense. It's a gigantic mess. I'm in the process of getting that site deleted for slander and character defamation, as it was made by a 15-year old homeschooler who simply hates me and a friend of mine from a video game you definitely don't want to play called Super Street Fighter IV. I've never seen a game with a more hateful, immature community in my entire life.
What I did to Wikipedia, however, is actually real, and though I never wanted to be an annoyance to Wikipedia (other than some things I did as Cosmos Raver), in my immaturity I was very bitter about what happened to my first couple accounts, so it added up. You can trust that I'm sincere and serious about this and am done with Wikipedia once my request is generously taken care of. Despite not being paid for the good you're bringing to Wikipedia, I'm sure your reasonableness will make the internet a better place for others like myself. Take care. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.208.41.91 (talk) 18:12, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
