Fictional battle in LOTR. Is only really referenced in the appendix to The Return of the King. While some of the conflicts in LOTR do pass WP:GNG, this one is not one of them. Hog Farm (talk) 22:06, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

- Delete The Battle of Dale is a relatively minor part of The Lord of the Rings. There does not appear to be any substantial discussion of this battle's importance. To put it bluntly, it seems like there was a horde of Tolkien fans who raided the appendices so that they could make even more useless articles. ―Susmuffin Talk 00:29, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. As stated, the battle was not even described in the actual narrative of the LotR itself, merely mentioned in the timelines of events in the appendices. Additionally, a lot of the current article appears to be WP:SYNTH and WP:OR, and the only sources being used are primary. Actual reliable, secondary sources discussing this minor, fictional battle in any depth outside of plot summary do not appear to exist.Rorshacma (talk) 00:35, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Delete I see no reason to have an article on something that was never covered in an actual literary work, only in appendices.John Pack Lambert (talk) 18:38, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Delete. Tolkiencruft = no evidence of importance to anyone outside Tolkien fans (not even Tolkien scholars, no dedicated entry in Tolkien Encyclopedia). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:50, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

- Redirect to War of the Ring#Dale, since it already exists there. Not only doesn't this have any real world notability, doesn't have any in-universe notability either. Onel5969 TT me 12:35, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
