Hello, Shshepherd0, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Odd Fellows

edit

It appears the Odd Fellows was also segregated? Black belonged to the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows? FloridaArmy (talk) 20:53, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes! The Grand United Order of Odd Fellows in America was the Black odd fellows group in America. The Grand United Order of Odd Fellows was/is the British organization which was open to all people in England. When the Peter Odgen and others were rejected from the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, they gained a charter (and therefore legitimacy) from the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows in England. Hi there, Shshepherd0, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to see you intend to help us improve coverage of women on Wikipedia. I see you have already made a good start with Kady Van Deurs. I hope there will be many more. If you haven't already done so, you might find it useful to look through our Primer. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 10:49, 22 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:50, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
