Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Pawan Kalyan into Draft:Samba Siva. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 20:35, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sambaa Siva

edit

Hello, Rv124,

Just for your information, IMDb is not considered what we call a reliable source as any person can add information to it (like Wikipedia). You'll need to add some sources like good newspapers, magazines or books for the PROD tag to be removed. If you have questions about editing on Wikipedia or the deletion processes, please visit the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:30, 14 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I see you have now added a reference to the Times of India, and removed the BLP PROD notice again. If you read Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 287#Times of India RFC, you will see that there is a fair degree of consensus that the Times of India is not a reliable source, for various reasons. However, in my opinion, far more important than whether the sources you have given are reliable or not is the fact that they don't give any substantial coverage of Sambaa Siva. Pretty well all they do is tell us he's an actor, and give us a few lists of credits which include him. At present I think the article qualifies for speedy deletion, as there is no meaningful assertion of significance: virtually all it tells us is that he is a film actor, but I prefer to give you time to find suitable sources; that is why, rather than deleting the article, I just restored the BLP PROD which Liz had placed, as that would give you a week to find sources. I could restore the BLP PROD again, but I don't think edit-warring over it is a good approach. I advise you to look at the notability guideline and the guide to reliable sources, and try to find some reliable sources which give substantial coverage to Sambaa Siva. No matter how reliable the sources may be, if they do no more, or little more, than tell us that he has acted in some films, they don't provide evidence that he satisfies Wikipedia's notability standards. I'll leave it there for now, to give you a chance to add references to suitable sources, but the article will be deleted before very long if you don't. JBW (talk) 22:11, 15 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Can you guide me what are the references to he used. I have used the available resources for this page. He is my friend and I created on Behalf of Him. Rv124 (talk) 05:17, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

You need to formally declare your WP:COI on your user page. It was quite obvious from your behaviour that you had a COI anyway but you need to stop editing until you do the formal declaration or you will likely be blocked. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 12:07, 28 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Sambaa Siva

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sambaa Siva requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sambaa Siva. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — DaxServer (talk to me) 12:00, 28 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
