- Please leave a new message. I won't bite newcomers. Please do not eMail me regarding Wikipedia matters.
- I respond to everything here that requires attention. If I respond here, you can safely assume I think so little of your message that I don't even think it is worth a couple of extra clicks to put the message on your talk page.
- Please do not template me using a level 1 warning - I don't appreciate being welcomed when I have, under various aliases, been editing here for 5+ years (albeit for less than three months under this account). Slosh me round the chops with a wet trout instead. Any other templates are fine to use.
- Most discussion boards - AfD, ANI etc. - requires that you notify me of any discussion I should be aware of - DON'T bother. Tag me with {{u|Launchballer}} on the page instead.
- I divide archives by year and then by every 100 posts.
Your recreation of Jasmine Waltz
editHi Launchballer. I was surprised to see that you thought it was up to you, the article creator and highly involved in the deletion discussion, to override the close by an uninvolved admin and recreate Jasmine Waltz in order to redirect it, offering your own (incidentally quite mistaken) reading of consensus. I've re-deleted the article. Your recourse if you're unhappy with the close is to take it to Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion. Bishonen | talk 13:27, 20 January 2014 (UTC).
- Bishonen - why on earth would that be the correct course of action? I don't want it undeleted, I want it redirected as was the case before I wrote an article on it!--Launchballer 13:29, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
- Mhmm. Your edit summary was "the consensus was to redirect not to delete". Really? I suggest you take it up with Mark Arsten, the closing admin. I'd advise against contesting his consensus assessment, because yours is plain wrong, but it's possible he won't mind it being recreated as a redirect. I really don't know. For myself, I don't object to the redirect if he doesn't, but it seems a little late for you to change your mind. You didn't show any openness to the "redirect" option in the AfD. Bishonen | talk 15:38, 20 January 2014 (UTC).
- That is because I've seen a good couple of AfDs closed as redirect despite there being more votes for delete then redirect, and I assumed this one would be the same - that edit was made out of pure haste, and my sincere apologies. I'll ask Mark Arsten if he could restore the redirect (and hopefully the rest of the revisions before it but that's his decision).--Launchballer 16:10, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Re: The Lizzy Macks
editThough I admire your diligence in distinguishing the two Lizzy Macks, I have to say you posted more info about the Lizzy Mack who ISN'T the topic of the page listed than the one it was purportedly about. I just think that's a little bit odd, and probably would require the original page to be deleted, unless there's more details about the original subject forthcoming. penpusher (talk) 15:14, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- Penpusher: Correct. The singer passes WP:MUSICBIO criterion #2, whereas the actress fails every notability criteria there is.--Launchballer 15:43, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bea Miles
editHello, I've closed this AfD as speedy keep as there was no prospect of it being deleted on notability grounds given that Miles has an entry in the Australian Dictionary of Biography, and any failure to comply with the MOS is plainly not a grounds for deletion. Mario Kart Wiki
editHello, Launchballer, you might remember me from the Mario Kart Wiki on Wikia as MarioLuigi1234. You promoted me to admin in May. Since then, I got a username change to Lumoshi. I have come here to request for bureaucrat rights once again. I see you have not edited for several months and I strongly feel that every wiki needs an active bureaucrat. I am beginning a major revamp of the wiki and attempting to finally make the wiki look extremely professional. Your DYK nomination of "Somewhere Down the Crazy River"
editHi, to be eligible for DYK, an article must have a minimum of 1500 prose characters. "Somewhere Down the Crazy River", which you submitted for DYK, only has 855. Note that the long "Background" quote and the bulleted items in the "Use in media" section do not count. If you can't find sufficient more material, maybe you could rewrite part of the quote in your own words and/or integrate the bullet points into a prose paragraph. Zissman DYK
edit<cross posted from nomination>As you may have noticed, I have stubbed down the article. It now weighs 1200B, so it fails DYK criteria. The article still has some crufty bits which I haven't made up my mind about. I looked through all the sources and I don't see very much that can help further expansion of the article. It would be great if you can find any more biographical information for expansion. -- Ohc ¡digame! 03:26, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for you continued efforts on the article. The stuff you posted about the value/valuation of her business is rather strange. I think it's trivia that should be removed under normal circumstances. But then, she's more a TV celeb than a real businesswoman, so I guess it's par for the course. I've copyedited, so it's once again about 50 characters short. I'll have a look around for more stuff to put in. Regards, -- Ohc ¡digame! 02:11, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

DYK QPQs still needed
editLaunchballer, you have one DYK where the only thing standing in the way of promotion is the lack of a QPQ (New Malden High Street), and one where it's one of the issues (Flappy Bird, just above this section).
The Gander Green Lane article seems likely to be deleted once it's reviewed by an AfD closer (the AfD backlog is immense); you still haven't addressed the close paraphrasing issues raised for St. Anthony's Hospital, which shares the nomination with Gander Green Lane, so it seems likely that the entire nomination will be closed as unsuccessful when the AfD does—if you do address the outstanding St. Anthony issues, you'll need to supply a QPQ for it as well. WP:REDLINK is broad, but does not allow for red links everywhere or on everything, and urges us to be cautious about using it in dab pages--and a hatnote is very much like a dab page. To have a red link in a hatnote is very distracting, and it's a much better idea to try and write that article--after all, nothing indicates that the person is actually notable. A red link included in text can provide context and thus indicate possible notability, but a hatnote just can't do that. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 16:52, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

edit"If you're going to piss about with the refs kindly have the decency to make sure no dependencies exist." Would you consider that a civil comment? I made a mistake, in good faith. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 14:44, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

editHi there. Just wondering why you added the blpprod to Nina Miranda (Uruguayan singer) (1925-2012)? --Rosiestep (talk) 13:31, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
- Because it had no references. The only reason I didn't A7 it is because it was brand new and in my experience new editors have a propensity to put down stubs without references. BLPprod is easily the most effective way of instructing them that articles require references.--Launchballer 19:06, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

"Vandalized..." HOW?
editHey, you need to be corrected. My edits to Olympic/Paralympic articles were in GOOD FAITH! How are those supposedly "vandalisms"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MaxxFordham (talk • contribs) 10:50, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- Please first of all stop vandalising my talk page again. Secondly how can you expect us to believe you are in good faith when you throw tantrums when corrected. Anyway I think Maxx behavior is unacceptable. Regards,--BabbaQ (talk) 10:53, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
Vandalism of my talk page by babbaq
editErase this if you like, admin. But hey, I guess you don't have an alert to new material on my talk page. Can I alert you here just like when someone else writes on my page, without being blocked?
babba Seems to think that while there's something supposedly "wrong" with my writing on his/her page, it's still "okay" for her/him to throw tantrums on mine, falsely accusing me of "throwing tantrums," and acting as if he/she were an admin when he/she is obviously not (because he/she has to ask you for help with her/his bidding). Now where is the "balance" in that?
I have already warned babba not to vandalize my page just like he has supposedly thought I was doing to his. But then he has continued. Will you please block him for the amount of time you would have blocked me if I had written on his page?
Oh, also, please read what I wrote about the accident I had on babba's user page and why I blanked it (but should have just reverted). OK?
"Maxx Fordham" — Preceding unsigned comment added by MaxxFordham (talk • contribs) 12:23, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- Maxx please move on with your Wikipedia-life. You have been warned by Bishonen a warning you decided to ignore and continue picking a fight. Please listen to Bishonens advice and move on. You are now harassing me and Launchballer with bringing up this non-issue. Regards,--BabbaQ (talk) 12:34, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- I am not picking any more of a fight by asking these two to block you for CONTINUING to write on my talk page than you were for suggesting that I was supposedly "vandalizing" yours. You need to just move on. I don't write on your talk page, so you must not continue to write on mine. Your continuing to write on mine is vandalism and harassment, and Launch and Bish should take my request to have you blocked seriously the same way as Launch did because he noticed what I was writing on your page.
- MaxxFordham (talk) 13:05, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- You have been warned by Bishonen several times. And you continue to assume bad faith. I rest my case. I admire Bishonens restraint in handling this situation. Now stop harassing me and move on. There is a reason to why you get warned again and again by the two users. Regards,--BabbaQ (talk) 13:07, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- THIS is not harassing you. I came here to talk to Launchballer, NOT you. I'm not assuming bad faith. This is simply asking him to level the playing field. There's nothing wrong with that. Leave me alone.
- MaxxFordham (talk) 13:38, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- Two more users have now given you input about your behavior. Please, if you do not care enough to listen to me then listen to them. They are basically begging you to just act normal. You atleast admit that you sent this message to Launchballer in bad faith both here now and at your own talk page saying "you should get a taste of your own medicine". Good to know. Now listen to the advice of about 5 users and move on. It is obvious that you consider this a "war".. well then I have to inform you that it is a war you will not win. Now please get your act together and move on. I really do not want to see you blocked, I think this is a really lousy reason to be blocked over. --BabbaQ (talk) 13:43, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

Uhh, if you want me to take the advice of the other users, then you need to do it yourself. You aren't above me. You aren't over me. You get your act together and go your way, and I'll go my way. You think it's a war I won't win, but then neither will you. Stalemate. Neither of us will win. Now just drop it, OK? MaxxFordham (talk) 15:40, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
Oops, not even an admin.! (Part 2)
editOops, LB, I should have read your user page before even believing there might have been merit posting my response here. Now I've been informed that you're not even an admin. (Then to add to that, I now just saw that you're still a teen. Haha! That's not a personal attack; but just a late observation.)
That leads me to wonder where you figured you could use the warning signs if you don't even have the admin. to back them up. Well, now I'll delete the segments I posted here, since they no longer make sense, and never really did!
Please just stick to letting the admins be the ones who wield the so-called "final warnings" and "potential blocks" and such. OK?
MaxxFordham (talk) 15:34, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- Whoops, pardon for the confusion. I actually intend to apply for administratorship on June 18, immediately after my final exam. Perhaps things are different outside of the UK but I consider myself an adult since in my country I am of the age of majority (which over here is 18).
- I figured I could use level four warnings despite not actually being an administrator having read this, which instructs on when warnings should be used.--Launchballer 16:26, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- @MaxxFordham. Any editor can issue final warnings and age is not the issue. We can call on admin backup at the click of a button.
- @Launchballer. You are enthusiastic but nowhere near being ready for adminship in June. To avoid a bruising rejection spend a couple of years gaining experience and knowledge of policy, then ask an experienced admin if they are willing to nominate you rather than self-nominating.--Charles (talk) 18:00, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
St. Anthony's Hospital
editI recommend you read what the source says - it places no blame whatsoever on the institution. If you fix it and say what actually happened (the physician settled independently) then the mention of the hospital is coincidental at best, and therefore offtopic in the article about the hospital. If we had an article about the doctor, that's where this would be. But we don't, as far as I can tell. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 22:00, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

I Got U
editI am aware of both policies, but unless the press decides to suddenly correct itself for every quick-hit charts piece there is nothing I can do. It's not a Whitney Houston sample, technically -- it was recreated. This is both verifiable and true. http://www.replayheaven.com/2014/03/duke-dumont-i-got-u-ft-jax-jones/ http://mrhproductions.co.uk/blog Katherineonwiki (talk) 11:42, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
- I'm just going to repeat you here: "Please do not template me using a level 1 warning - I don't appreciate being welcomed when I have, under various aliases, been editing here for 5+ years (albeit for less than three months under this account)." As for the piece, there is nothing else I can do. It's a sample recreation. It just is. If you listen to the track and then to the Whitney Houston song it samples, it is obvious the singer is different. WP:PRIMARY says that primary sources are acceptable unless you're adding your own interpretation, and "I sang on this" is about as straightforward, descriptive a statement of fact as you can get. (As for primary sources and music publications, WP:BLOGS doesn't apply when it's the artist themselves. What you are looking for is WP:SOCIALMEDIA. Unless there's some weird ambiguity going on -- Future saying he originally wrote "Drunk in Love" is the first thing that comes to mind -- an artist statement is going to be a hundred times more reliable than a quick-hit blog post from sites that tend to aggregate without fact-checking and as a result often aggregate incorrect information.) So this appears to be an impasse. Katherineonwiki (talk) 12:09, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks -- it's been a while since I've used non-proprietary wiki markup. (I do have another source, come to think of it, though it didn't show up on Google as it's a video -- I just asked one of my colleagues, who linked me to this BBC Radio 1 clip of a live performance, and at 5:16 they mention she did vocals on the original track as well as this Live Lounge performance.) editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited DJ Jurgen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Better Off Alone (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Incomplete DYK nomination
editHello! Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/Sigma (band) at the Did You Know nominations page is not complete; see step 3 of the nomination procedure. If you do not want to continue with the nomination, tag the nomination page with {{db-g7}}, or ask a DYK admin. Thank you. DYKHousekeepingBot (talk) 07:32, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for bringimg the DYK thing to my attention. Regardless if whether the article was acepted for DYK in the state it was in, that doesn't take away from the fcat that much of the information comes from unreliable sources such as blogs like Joseph Vinexia. Additionally, that blog is used to reference that "Sexy Lady" was not released as a single, but that information is not contained within the source. Furthermore, genres were unsourced and comments about the Boots campaign were made twice in the introduction. If things are unreliably sourced they will be challenged and removed... it is not a valid revision to say "too much information has been removed etc". It is unfortunate but where sources are unreliable infoemation ia classified aa unverified. As for the DYK situation I will bring it up on the talk page because it should not have passed with that level of referencing. I so appreciate your work on Wikipedia and you do a good job, in this instance it was not your fault, the revieiwing DYK person should have noticed these things. She/he is at fault here. When I have some spare time I will help look for some more reliable sources but until then please do not add back unreliably or poorly sourced information. Also, WP:Record charts says not to discuss chart trajectoris... just the debut position and peak position. → Lil-℧niquԐ 1 - { Talk } - 11:00, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
- This just popped up on my watch list as I must have forgotten to clear it off. Launchballer, Lil-unique1 is quite correct to state that an appearance on DYK does not mean the article was/is in an acceptable condition. However, as I did the DYK review I take exception to Lil-unique1's inference that I am responsible (at fault) for the inadequacies of this article. Please see the actual DYK review as it clearly outlines what was actually checked against the DYK criteria which is very basic. A further check that it meets the DYK criteria is also carried out by the editor who promotes it to a prep area and then a final check is given by the Admin who moves it into the queue. The blame for an inadequate article can therefore simply not be transferred to DYK or a DYK reviewer. SagaciousPhil - Chat 12:30, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
- Sagaciousphil, I do apologise, I wasn't trying to imply it was the DYK reviewer's fault. What I meant was that it was unfortunate that the editor submitted an article that was not up to standards and that the system did not detect the inaccuracies / issues with the article. With about an hour's week, the article is now considerably better. I went through and improved the sourcing as well as re-wrote it to match the quality standards we usually expect from DYK and more widely. → Lil-℧niquԐ 1 - { Talk } - 12:42, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- @Lil-unique1: Thanks for taking the time to fix the article. You did actually state in your comment above:
"the revieiwing DYK person should have noticed these things. She/he is at fault here."
but, whatever ... water under the bridge. I do admit I seldom become involved in song type articles - I only did the DYK review as my attention had been drawn to it for another reason. Launchballer, you have several other song articles currently nominated at DYK, would it be better for Lil-unique1 to have a quick skim over the articles (that's if they are willing and have the time, of course) so there is less likely to be problems occurring later? Just a suggestion! The articles seem to be: Cirrus (song); I'm Gonna Get You (Bizarre Inc song); I Got U; and although it's not a song Sigma (band). By the way, I am not saying there is necessarily anything wrong with these articles simply making a suggestion to try to help. SagaciousPhil - Chat 13:05, 4 April 2014 (UTC)- I am happy for that to happen.--Launchballer 13:31, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- I can't seen any direct issues with Cirrus (song). As for I'm Gonna Get You (Bizarre Inc song) - the use of navigation boxes were finished in 2011/12 and removed/replaced with standard chart tables per WP:Record charts. Mentions of Allmusic should be linked → Allmusic, Metro.co.uk → Metro, "MTV Year End Countdown". MTV. May 2, 1993" → needs to be sourced properly using {{Cite episode}}, ref 11 needs expanding - there's missing information, reference 14 needs to be consistant with reference 1. Similar things in I Got U. Expand the references. → Lil-℧niquԐ 1 - { Talk } - 19:54, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
- Why does references 1 and 14 need to be consistent when they're different references? MTV Year End Countdown is sourced using {{cite episode}}. Everything else with I'm Gonna Get You sorted. I Got U I've expanded two of them, but the rest of them I've had to leave because they're wrapped up in {{singlechart}} and it's just confusing me.--Launchballer 13:20, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Anup. I noticed you recently replaced a speedy with a {{prod}} tag for the same cause (notability), I've speedied it. Yes, it is a non-notable event and doesn't warrant to stay up even a week. I've restored the speedy tag. If you think, speedy tag should not be there and subject's notability is on borderline, consider nominating it for deletion. Thank you! Anupmehra -Let's talk! 12:30, 5 April 2014 (UTC)
