editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. The article List of parishes of Jersey has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- I have merged this information to the Parishes of Jersey article, so this article is no longer needed.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Danrok (talk) 23:36, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Susan Pinel
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Susan Pinel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 02:23, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Coastal fortifications of Jersey
editHi Danrok, Nice work on the article. When you proposed moving the Round towers article I was afraid that it would just sit there in an otherwise empty shell article. All going well, my wife and I will be in Jersey for almost a week this summer and I look forward to taking some photos to add to the article. That aside, I noticed a Martello tower in the photo of Battery Lothringen. Is the Tour de Vinde?. If so, I would like to put cross-reference links in place in the articles. Also, is Battery Moltke associated with any of the Martellos or round/Conway towers? Regards, Acad Ronin (talk) 14:13, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Tour de Vinde is at the foot of the cliffs of Noirmont Point where Battery Lothringen is located. I'm not sure what the Germans did with it, if anything. Seems unlikely that they would have used it because there is no easy footpath to it, and the cliff area would have been full of obstacles like barbed wire and possibly mines. They did make some use of some of some of the other existing towers. This one, Fliquet tower, has their concrete additions visible on the top. But, I'd imagine most would have been deemed useless to them because they wouldn't have with stood an attack from modern artillery. Their Marine Peilstand towers were essentially their own versions/replacements of these towers, but only 3 were completed.
There are none of the Martello or Conway towers at Battery Moltke. But they did destroy some of the towers in St Ouen's Bay, near by. Presumably because they were obstructing their guns' fire, and could have provided cover for invading Allied forces.
Moltke and Lothringen aren't the only batteries, but they're the best ones to visit. At Battery Ludendorff they used the windmill there as a tower. The command bunker there was apparently converted to some kind of nuclear fallout shelter by the States of Jersey.
At some point I will try to make a start on some more of the sites. Danrok (talk) 15:55, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've made the Tour de Vinde and Lothringen cross-links. Regards, Acad Ronin (talk) 17:06, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Help with Winton Capital Management?
editHello there, Danrok. Back in October you made a small edit to the Winton Capital Management article, so I thought to reach out and see if you have time to help me with it. I've actually been asked by Winton to propose some updates and corrections, and I have just a few small things left, but the editors who had helped me before have become busy with other things. Because I have a financial COI on the topic, I won't be making any direct edits to the article; my hope is to find consensus for my changes that someone else may implement. My proposal is on the article Talk page, and if you're willing to consider it, I'd appreciate it! Cheers, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 20:04, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

- Oh, I know the guideline well. In fact, until January of last year I actually would make such edits, but at that time, Jimbo weighed in to say (in general, not necessarily about me) "do not edit Wikipedia articles directly if you are a paid advocate". Although these changes are not advocacy, I think what I do is often that, and because paid editing can be so contentious, I've decided to avoid direct edits entirely. Unfortunately, here's the downside: I end up asking folks like you if they'll carry out a particular task, and it can be a hassle. If you do have the time, that would be great; if not I'll keep moving on. Thanks! WWB Too (Talk · COI) 21:49, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

editHi, regarding edits such as this, this, this, this, this, this: none of these did anything other than insert a blank line above a heading, removing trailing whitespace, or bypass a redirect. These actions have no noticeable effect on the rendered page, so count as insignificant or inconsequential edits; and so fall foul of WP:AWB#Rules of use item 4. --Redrose64 (talk) 08:29, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
editHi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 03:03, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

I was wondering if you could help me with some edits for Charlotte Valuer page. Staying true to neutrality and objectivity; I do have a conflict of interest which is why I can’t make the edits myself.
Her page doesn’t reflect her impressive career in the financial industry (Former Chair of IOD) as well as fighting for equality for all in the boardroom and wider society. She’s also a Jersey resident and has just set up a new charity the Institute for Neurodiversity (https://ioni24.wildapricot.org/). Additionally, the page hasn’t been properly edited since 2018.
Take a look at my sandbox (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:MIAAccount/sandbox) and let me know if you have the capacity right now to help me edit it! Cheers!MIAAccount (talk) 17:25, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Furniture retailers of Jersey
editA tag has been placed on Category:Furniture retailers of Jersey indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. AusLondonder (talk) 07:40, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
