Welcome to my user page!
My nickname is Nederlandse Leeuw (NLeeuw), which means "Dutch Lion" in Dutch. I've got a BA in History; philosophy, science, skepticism and language are also among my top interests. I'm mainly active on the Dutch language Wikipedia, but I regularly do edits in other Wikipedias. Since 2014, I have become more active on English Wikipedia, often translating articles from Dutch to English and vice versa, sometimes together with others, in rare cases even resulting in a DYK. I'm passionate about providing correct and relevant information on a variety of topics, based on reliable sources.
Please leave messages to me on my user talk page.
Essays
edit- Commons:Evidence-based mapping – an essay summarising policies, precedents and recommendations on using reliable sources for creating maps on Commons and using them on English Wikipedia, dealing with existing inaccurate and unsourced maps on Commons, and improving cooperation between users.
- Wikipedia:Emptying categories out of process (WP:ECOOP) – an essay about why users shouldn't remove all/most items from a category (before/after nominating it for discussion). This may violate WP:CFD policy, and hinder the community in assessing the category's purpose and whether/how its items are related. The essay summarises policies and their interpretations, sanction precedents, former policies, case studies, proposals for future policy reform, and makes recommendations for improving cooperation between users.
