Hi, I'm MusikBot II! I am not human, but an automated program to help maintain Wikipedia. I add protection templates to articles when they are missing one, but I do not add the protection itself. The template simply shows a padlock icon to help editors know the page is protected. The protection itself was performed by an admin, not me. I also remove protection templates after the protection expires, but again I do not remove the protection itself.
Why did you protect/unprotect my article?
I did not! Page protection can only be added or removed by human administrators. I only added or removed the template which indicated that the page was protected. If you would like to request protection be restored, please do so at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. If you would like to request protection be removed, please contact the responsible administrator directly, and if you receive no response, file a request at WP:RFUP.
Who removed the protection?
Most likely the protection expired on its own. It could also be that an administrator removed it manually but forgot to remove the template.
Can you protect a page for me?
I cannot. Please make a request at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection.
What about templates?
Yes, I do automatically protect templates. This happens when the template is used on so many pages that it isn't safe to leave it unprotected. See User:MusikBot II/TemplateProtector for more information.
I have a different question
If it is regarding the bot, please ask my operator at User talk:MusikAnimal. For any other questions, ask at the usual help venues such as the Teahouse or the help desk.
