==B-Class==

Reasons:

  • This is a reasonably complete and well-written article, although it needs to be rewritten to pull all the sources together
  • Structured in sections
  • Extensively referenced from primary sources
  • Taxobox

Organization, understandability of this page

edit

This page is a mess, and also seems to be rather outdated, and to rely heavily on one paper (Werdelin at al., 2010). Most especially, is the table under "Taxonomic history" subsection really necessary? It seems to me that several paragraphs of info would explain things better.

If it is alright, then I will get started on writing some paragraphs for taxonomic history.--SilverTiger12 (talk) 17:07, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it is preferred that info is conveyed through prose rather than lists. FunkMonk (talk) 17:11, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Update: I added the beginnings of a taxonomic history section, using some recent papers as sources. Also, I greatly expanded the Hyperailurictis article, including the addition of a taxonomic history section there. However, I am having some difficulty finding the taxonomic history of the Eurasian and African species-- the North American species had a rather helpful 2003 systematic review by Tom Rothwell that I relied on heavily for the Hyperailurictis article.
Also, a question: should the information on the Hyperailurictis page be duplicated on this one? And does anyone remember a good source or two on the Eurasian & African Pseudaelurus species?--SilverTiger12 (talk) 13:05, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I have removed the table entirely, and have greatly expanded the paragraphs under the "Taxonomy and phylogeny" section. However, more information (on the taxonomic history of the European species, and the several proposed genera especially) is still needed. And probably some copy-editing, too.--SilverTiger12 (talk) 18:30, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
