- Comment: The link between the six musicians in ALT0 is that they are all in Loud LDN, although I would not be able to include that fact on the front page as I am relying on Loud LDN's website for Ella and Grae being in there. Additionally, there is a Creative Commons image of Nieve Ella's hair salon at Geograph.org.uk that could be used for ALT2.
Moved to mainspace by Launchballer (talk). Self-nominated at 02:34, 27 December 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Lucy Tun; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- For now I am reviewing only Ella and Grae as I do not feel that Tun's individual hook, nor the multi-article hook, are sufficiently interesting to non-specialist audiences. I am noting that three QPQs have been provided, one for each article.
- Nieve Ella
- The article is new enough and long enough. It is adequately sourced and free from close paraphrasing. I have verified the hook in the source and it is cited inline; although the salon in question was run by her mother, the hook still works especially with the context removed.
- Hannah Grae
- The article is also newenough and long enough. It is adequately sourced and free from close paraphrasing. I have verified the hook in the source and it is cited inline, and the hook is interesting to a broad audience.
- Overall
- Ella and Grae are good to go, but I would like to see a new hook for Tun as it seems too specialist to me and isn't as interesting if the reader is unfamiliar with the name of the artist that is mentioned there. Per my comment above I have struck the multihook as lacking sufficient interest to broad audiences. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 11:23, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
- I'm going to do a little bit more work on Tun's article I think. In the meantime, I've added both an image of Ella and her salon to the article, and I'd like to submit the salon image with the nom.--Launchballer 12:09, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
- It's irritating that Redlightmanagement.com probably isn't reliable, as "that Lucy Tun's inspirations include death metal and RuPaul's Drag Race" could work. I propose:
- ALT4: ... that in September 2023, the British musician Lucy Tun co-organised a series of writing camps for East and South East Asian Heritage Month?--Launchballer 14:18, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
- I'd say that her agency profile should be okay for noncontentious information, including even hooks. Basically, as long as there's information that they probably didn't make up and isn't something that is likely to be challenged, that source should be okay for certain information. So if you want, you can go ahead with the death metal/Drag Race hook as long as you include Tun's genre to make the contrast more visible. - ALT5: ... that the alt-pop musician Lucy Tun cites death metal and RuPaul's Drag Race as influences?--Launchballer 11:48, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- That sounds okay. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 13:38, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

- I've given this some thought, and while I think ALT5 is okay, I'm not 100% sure if it's interesting to a broad audience, so I'd like a second opinion for Lucy Tun only. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 09:03, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

- Alt5 seems fine to me; death metal and Drag Race make quite a juxtaposition. I'll go ahead and give the tick for Alts 2, 3 and 5 (to run separately, as three different noms), per Narutolovehinata5's review. As for AirshipJungleman29's hair salon comment above, I don't see an issue; it's quite a usual idiomatic usage. --Paul_012 (talk) 12:28, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
