rcp as source

edit

hi my cite for a RealClearPolitics was reverted, even though the referenced wp guidance labels the site as "caution " with no consensus. can we be less draconian in this case? the referenced article is quite thorough and well sourced. the discussion archive on rcp doesnt seem to indicate any major problems. Is a better source available? At WP:RSP, RCP is summarized with "Use as a source in a Wikipedia article should probably only be done with caution, and better yet should be avoided". The article may also be WP:RSOPINION ("may be considered reliable for statements as to their author's opinion, but not for statements asserted as fact"). The writer's current employer is deprecated (WP:NEWSMAX). Llll5032 (talk) 23:28, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
The best source of course would be Hougan's book itself. Although I imagine that source would meet a similar fate. Mikeroetto (talk) 12:07, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
