Salary

edit

What is the salary that senators earn? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tpl6060 (talkcontribs) 19:58, 16 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

And is being a state senator supposed to be a full time Job? Barrack Obama's article says he taught at law school at the same time. Which role would have been his main job? Postlebury (talk) 21:47, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Where is Barack Oabama?

edit

I read that Barack Obama is a senator from Illinois. But I haven't found his name in the senator's list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.49.40.140 (talk) 07:45, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

majority

edit

there are 59 senators but a majority is 15?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.213.10.79 (talk) 23:16, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes the majority is 15. There are 15 more demorcatic members than republicans. Hence they hold the majority by 15 points. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.22.200.55 (talk) 19:06, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Finding your district

edit

All I want to do is find out which district is my own. Why is this so hard to find anywhere? I would think all states would have a page where you could plug in your town and it would tell you your district and the representatives. Can anyone put something like this up on the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.250.156.2 (talk) 17:31, 24 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

No mention of the Illinois Senate's presiding officer?

edit

The Illinois Senate currently elects one of its own members as 'President of the Senate' Prior to 1970, the Lieutenant Governor acted as presiding officer with a tie-breaking vote. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.212.80.149 (talk) 21:27, 12 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

'Supermajority'?

edit

Is 39–20 a "supermajority" for Illinois purposes? It isn't for Federal purposes, that would be two-thirds, but in many states it is in fact three-fifths, but I really don't know about Illinois (that's why I look stuff up on Wikipedia). If the current Democratic majority is functioning as a supermajority because it is over three-fifths, this should be explained; if this is dated due to the current makeup not being reflected and this is a pre-election relic, then it needs to be updated by a knowledgeable person. 2600:1004:B164:42C:48C2:1602:1841:F9D9 (talk) 02:32, 13 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Made changes to reflect 2016 election

edit

Since no one had made them, I decided to edit this page to reflect the new members and seats that each party holds. I also changed the members of the Illinois senate template at the bottom to reflect the 100th assembly.

I just want to make sure...

Are all of my edits correct? Are the numbers in the party summary table correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patriotsontop (talkcontribs) 04:35, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Next election table in error?

edit

Based on [1], all the "class 2" seats are up in 2018, not 2020. Power~enwiki (talk) 04:01, 16 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
