"The fingerboard is mounted on the soundbox, which is long and thin widening to a pear shape at one end." This is on the acoustic version, do electric versions exist?

Editing
editI just read the article, and although there's a prominent notice about the need to edit into standard English, that appears to have been done. Please remove the notice, if that's appropriate.
I did one edit that seems to have been needed because of the too-common error of reading/typing "of" for "or" (and the converse). (This error seems to occur because of teaching our written language as logographic instead of phonetic, which impairs accuracy in recognition.)
I was tempted to change "accompaniment", referring to strings, into "drone", but the description implying their easy access made me decide to leave the text as is.
