Boeotarch?

It doesn't seem likely that a Carthaginian general would also be a Boeotarch, a Theban magistrate. The external links do not mention this word. The book "Ancient Rome" by H.L. Havell does not seem to exist, but "Republican Rome" by H.L. Havell does and again does not mention this word. No, the Smith reference, and his source, Appian, use "Boetharch", βοήθαρχος, not "Boeotarch", Βοιωτάρχης. For which Liddel & Scott give the definition "βοήθ-αρχος, ὁ, captain of auxiliaries, name of a Carthaginian officer, Plb. 1.79.2, App. Pun. 70.". I have three results on gbooks [2] that use Hasdrubal the Boetharch. There is one [3] that uses Hasdrubal the Boeotarch, but only in the index. It would seem, at least, that wikilinking Boeotarch is an error as that is an entirely inappropriate article. I will unlink that now. The wrong Hasruba'al?

There is this line : "He was killed by Romans and the Romans cut his head and threw it into the camp of his brother Hanibal."

I think the writer of this line confused Hasdrubal the Boeotarch with Hasdrubal Barca ( brother of Hannibal Barca ) who was killed

in the Battle of the Metaurus ( at the SECOND Punic War ) and the Roman Consul at that time, Gaius Claudius Nero , had him decapitated and

I previously reverted a similar change from an IP involved in other vandalism and assumed this was deliberate false information, but it seems to be sourcable. I will make the changes and add a cite. SpinningSpark 15:04, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Again, Wrong Hasdrubal
