Fair use rationale for Image:City Islanders Logo.jpg

edit

Image:City Islanders Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Penn FCHarrisburg City Islanders@GiantSnowman, 162 etc., Jay eyem, and IagoQnsi: Now that the club is defunct, the article should be titled with the team's most recognizable name with respect to history. The club was officially known as the City Islanders for 14 seasons between 2004 and 2017. The team reached the finals three times and won one league championship. Conversely, Penn FC played a single unremarkable season in 2018. Following the article titling policy, the "recognizability" critera points strongly in favour of the proposed title. • Oppose - it's standard to keep defunct soccer clubs at the last name, rather than previous ones. GiantSnowman 15:02, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm not familiar with that convention(?) but I think it directly contradicts Wikipedia policy so it should not be used. Maybe in the case of roughly equaly notability, the tie should go to the most recent name? But that is not the situation here. BLAIXX 15:18, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Support as per nom. 162 etc. (talk) 15:55, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom. The intro sentence could be something like "Harrisburg City Islanders, known as Penn FC in their final season, were an American professional soccer team based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States." –IagoQnsi (talk) 21:27, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment I was curious to see if there had been any sort of recent coverage on the team, and while it looks like the sourcing is spotty it does also look like Penn FC continues to exist as a youth club instead of a professional club. I am not sure a move makes sense at this time because of that, even though it's clear that they only played professionally under that name for one year. Could the articles be separated out, or would that be unnecessary? 23:38, 10 April 2023 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jay eyem (talkcontribs) 23:38, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
