David Keene has attracted more attention than he was bargaining for. Check out [1].YusufMJH (talk) 23:12, 20 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

New Yorker article

edit

The New Yorker had an article on gun control which is to a significant degree a profile of Keene.

Claims about Keene's son

edit

The Violence Policy Center is a gun control group, and as such is not a reliable or neutral source for this claim at all. The same goes for "Mother Jones." See WP:BLP and WP:NPOV. ROG5728 (talk) 23:37, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

The information was confirmed on the conservative leaning CNSnews. There can be no credible claim the facts are not reliable because of a lack of "neutrality." http://cnsnews.com/news/article/conservative-leaders-son-jailed-road-rage-case — Preceding unsigned comment added by Underhillbill (talkcontribs) 21:05, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

The information is not relevant to the public figure this page is about. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.118.251.65 (talk) 14:13, 3 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Information on public figures pages must pertain to the public figure the page is about.

How is this not relevant? If it wasn't relevent it wouldn't have been published in dozens of major newspapers. Further, plenty of Wiki pages include far far more personal information than this about relatives and most of that is far less relevant about their lives than this.

"Beware of claims that rely on guilt by association, and biased or malicious content." Also: "Many Wikipedia articles contain material on people who are not well known, even if they are notable enough for their own article. In such cases, exercise restraint and include only material relevant to the person's notability" See WP:BLP — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.178.49.25 (talk) 16:08, 11 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

In light of the past few months, the rather convenient removal of the note on the criminal record of his son, who is serving 10yrs in a Virginian prison for road rage and firing a weapon at person in a car appears to be politically motivated. Here is a reliable source if a source is needed [2]. I would also suggest mentioning his ex-wife, Diana Hubbard Carr, who was convicted for mail fraud. Even in light of what has occurred in the United States over the past months with mass shootings, the involvement of the National Rifle Association and the ongoing debate on guns in American society, David Keene is a major U.S. public figure and information such as the gun crime of his son and embezzlement of his ex-wife must be stated and known or this page fails to uphold the values and spirit of Wikipedia. The actions of others are not relevant to his notoriety as a public figure. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.73.26.220 (talk) 05:35, 14 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Both his wife and son worked for the ACU at the.time of their crimes, while he was Chairman. It's relevant. 184.78.81.245 (talk) 17:41, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

No, they are not. Including them is purely an attempt at guilt-by-association, which is absolutely forbidden per WP:BLP and any number of other content policies. There is no such thing as "corruption of blood" in the United States of America. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 04:24, 7 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Interview with Wolf Blitzer on January 16, 2013

edit

During the interview Mr. Keene stated, "semi-automatic firearms have been around for a couple of hundred years", which is factually untrue. Semi automatic firearms were invented in the 1880's, becoming commonplace with law-enforcement during the 1920's.

This addition violates WP:OR (see WP:SYNTH) as well as WP:NPOV. ROG5728 (talk) 17:37, 17 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re; the price of freedom

edit

I have just watched the documentary 'the price of freedom' .., I feel compelled to say, sir, you are living in the dark. People die by massive numbers by yours and NRA rhetoric..not only have you pervaded your country with thoughtless speech, you have passed a torch to those around you . I personally wish u well ,but,..vehemently disagree with what you stand for. When you meet Charlton Heston, I'm hoping the world will be a gentler place. Why this diatribe ? Ask the working class folks who can't afford the scraps of your dinner and look at the stats. You, sir, should be ashamed of your life. The ammendments stand for the people, not for your personal gain at the loss of life. 205.234.52.132 (talk) 08:48, 16 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
