Alan Knott
editTaylor was not discarded. He was given a test at the end of the successful Ashes winning tour. Knott was not happy. I have amended your article for small inaccuracies.JimBakken (talk) 20:30, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Innings of 97
editThe innings of 97 was against Australia and Taylor did not come in as nightwatchman(5th Test 1978-9)JimBakken (talk) 20:45, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Substitute in Lord's test?
editDidn't he make an appearance in an Ashes test at Lord's in the late 80s? The keeper got injured and Bill Athey put the gloves on for a bit, but Taylor was int eh ground and the Aussie captain allowed Taylor to come on as a substitute fielder. I beelive Taylor ran a sports shop in Alsager after his retirement, but I dont' know how easy that would be to source. David Underdown (talk) 12:01, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- I have included the first part, not sure what he did after retiring. S.G.(GH) ping! 14:09, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
