– Another "OVA" test case... Anyway, there is no functional difference at all, between a so-called "one-off" original video animation (OVA) release (like this one), and a "direct-to-video film" (indeed, OVAs even have a section at the latter article). The latter are simply disambiguated with "(film)" under WP:NCFILM. The same should also be true of one-off OVAs, and the disambiguation for these should be handled under WP:NCFILM, just as it would for any other direct-to-video release. In this case, moving Appleseed (OVA) to Appleseed (1988 film) will also require moving the current Appleseed (film) to Appleseed (2004 film) in order to distinguish the two titles – Appleseed (film) should then be redirected back to Appleseed#Media as per WP:INCDAB. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 02:47, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nom. If it's a direct-to-video release, that is just another way of calling it a film. Per WP:NCFILM and WP:NCTV#Television films, we don't distinguish films by the medium they came out on (television films, theatrical films, direct-to-home-media films, streaming films) nor do we distinguish films by genre or length (short film) until we need extra disambiguation. In this case, following WP:NCFILM#Between films of the same name, the correct disambiguation would be (<year> film). --Gonnym (talk) 08:50, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- Support - the (OVA) disambiguation method isn't supported by any established naming conventions. This item is described and covered in works such as 500 Essential Anime Movies, establishing that it is considered a straight-to-video film. -- Netoholic @ 21:55, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
