Date
editIt's not clear where the day has come from for this earthquake - the month is well-supported, but I have been unable to find anything to support the 25th or any other day. Mikenorton (talk) 19:58, 30 April 2022 (UTC)
- My book by Berberian does not cover this event 😕 Dawnseeker2000 21:01, 30 April 2022 (UTC)

Year
editIt seems that the year is also uncertain for this event. Both Pierce et al. (2024) and Mammadli & Muradov (2023) give the range of 1667 to 1669, opting to use 1668, although I note that one of the authors appears in both papers.[1][2] Mikenorton (talk) 19:52, 29 June 2024 (UTC)

Death toll
editThe death toll used in the article is 80,000 as used in the NOAA/NGDC source in agreement with all five of the sources that it cites. This number is also used by Mammadli & Muradov (2023), citing Nikonov (1982) but Pierce et al. (2024) use "6,000-8,000", also citing Nikonov (1982). The smaller number seems more likely but the weight of sources suggests that we stick with the higher number. Mikenorton (talk) 21:26, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
