On 16 November 2015, she reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 245. On 16 May 2022, she peaked at No. 43 in the WTA doubles rankings.[2] Dzalamidze has won three doubles titles on the WTA Tour. She has also won three WTA Challenger doubles titles with ten singles[3] and 29 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit.[4]

Nationality change

edit

She began representing Georgia, where her father is from, in international competition in June 2022 in order to be able to compete at Wimbledon and the Olympics.[1][5]

Professional career

edit

Dzalamidze made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2015 Nürnberger Versicherungscup in Germany, in the doubles draw partnering Sviatlana Pirazhenka.[2]

In 2021, she won her first two doubles titles at the Romanian Open in October and the Linz Open in November, partnering Kaja Juvan[6] and Kamilla Rakhimova[7] respectively.

Two years later, Dzalamidze won the Linz doubles title for the second time, partnering with Viktória Kužmová to defeat Anna-Lena Friedsam and Nadiia Kichenok in the final.[8]

Notes

edit
  1. ^ The first Premier 5 event of the year has switched back and forth between the Dubai Tennis Championships and the Qatar Ladies Open since 2009. Dubai was classified as a Premier 5 event from 2009 to 2011 before being succeeded by Doha for the 2012–2014 period. In 2015, Dubai regained its Premier 5 status while Doha was demoted to Premier status. The Premier 5 tournaments were reclassified as WTA 1000 tournaments in 2021.
