This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Man Down is the eleventh studio album by American rapper Ice Cube. It released yesterday on November 22, 2024, making it his first solo album since Everythang's Corrupt (2018).[1] Man Down features guest appearances from Mount Westmore cohorts E-40, Snoop Dogg and Too $hort, October London, IshaDon, K-Major, Mike Epps, Da Lench Mob cohort J-Dee, Kurupt, B-Real, Xzibit, Busta Rhymes, and Killer Mike, while production was handled by Ice Cube and Mike Epps themselves, Cassius Jay, Elon Deondre Brown, E-A-Ski, T-Mix, Nottz, Bigg Von, Zaytoven, Policy Kings, DecadeZ, David Banner, Samuel "The Illrd" Elliot, Lil Jon, Young Slade, and Hallway Productionz.[2]
Background and cover
editMan Down will be Ice Cube's first solo studio album in nearly 6 years after "Everythang's Corrupt," which debuted at number 62 on the Billboard 200 with 14,000 album-equivalent units, and also garnered positive reception from music critics.[3]
The album cover for "Man Down" shows a black teenager in Los Angeles walking on a sidewalk while looking to his left at a dead body. On the road, a construction worker, police officer, and pedestrian are all dead while laying down.[4]
Promotion and release
editOn October 18, Ice Cube released "It's My Ego," a single for the album.[5] The single was teased a few weeks before release on September 23. On November 11, Ice Cube released his other single "Ego Maniacs," which featured Busta Rhymes and Killer Mike.[6]
On November 11, Ice Cube announced on his X page that Man Down will be releasing on November 22, and unveiled the album cover. A day later, he performed his single "It's My Ego" live in Phoenix, Arizona. The next day, Ice Cube promoted limited edition autographed CDs of the album and also promoted ready to pre-order vinyls. On November 22, "Man Down" was released, and also released the same day was Kendrick Lamar's "GNX."
