History

edit

Hypervolt was launched in 2021 in London by technology entrepreneur Flavian Alexandru with a view to building a connected EV charging ecosystem. Committing to UK manufacturing from their Rainham factory and R&D centre, the brand launched it's first domestic EV charger in March 2021, Home 2.0. The charger featured solar panel integration, tariff customisation, and cost tracking among other features. The 2.0 was well received and named Best Home Charger in the 2023 DrivingElectric Awards[2]. The company adheres to a strict customer service philosophy manifested in a a 365 days a year support team based at it's Canary Wharf HQ. This, in part, has contributed to the brand being the highest rated EV charging manufacturer on Trustpilot as of May 2024[3].

One of the fastest growing technology companies in the United Kingdom having grown 19,236% growth[4] in its first three years in business, the brand were named Cleantech winner in the 2023 Deloitte Fast50 Technology Awards[5]

A successor model, Home 3.0 was released on 1st January 2023, with a further updated model, Home 3 Pro, launching on 17th September 2023. The brand's latest model features a IP66 water resistant enclosure, IK10 rated front cover, and heat sink for improved thermal performance[6][7]. Among other accolades, Hypervolt's chargers have been lauded by both AutoCar[8], Carwow[9], and AutoExpress[10].

Hypervolt counts Enphase Energy[11], OVO Energy[12], AutoTrader[13], and Wickes[14] among its major partners.
