A message left on this talk page by a Christian fan of my work: "You sodomites really know how to stick together....yech !!!! I never met one who was not significantly emotionally disturbed. Oh, they can function and prosper in society but when the center of your life is your perverted sex you are emotionally disturbed and after looking at your user page are no different. People like you should and someday will be destroyed. It will be a glorious day. BTW i rotate ip addresses about every 2-3 days........Keep on Suckin'
ps. have you ever thought about putting a gun to your head and giving your life to jesus? i know i could not go through life day to day looking in the mirror at that vile degenerate looking back at me." - 97.88.222.103
So much for this.
I hope all of you sodomites decide that maybe Christians are right and that all we need is some church in our wicked lives.
Praise Jeebus!!!

- Sir, your Wookie porn addiction has clearly addled your mind, for I have no idea what you could possibly mean. I am the very embodyment of innocence, just like Matt, who never deserved his detention. Jay*Jay (talk) 12:28, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Nominated St. Paul A.M.E. Church for DYK
See [1]. Hope you don't mind. Since I am too lazy to create really awesome Raleigh articles like this, I thought I could at least nominate yours for DYK... --Jayron32.talk.contribs 16:36, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ahh, thank you very much. HouseOfScandal nominated Clarence Lightner for DYK but I don't know what to do after that, so I guess I'll wait a little while to figure out the DYK process. Hopefully, they'll pick one of them. This list is coming in very handy. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 01:24, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- DYK is mega informal. Generally, if its nominated, and its not crap, it makes the main page on the appointed day. They just rotate through all of the qualified nominees. Yours should easily make it... --Jayron32.talk.contribs 12:45, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Will I be informed if it does or do I just need to keep a lookout? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 13:01, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- When it gets promoted to the main page, you usually get a notice on your talk page, PLUS, the article's talk page will be updated to indicate it appeared as a DYK article. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 23:13, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

WikiStress
When you get stressed out on WP (like when I did just now by accidentally hitting the goddamn backspace before I posted this message, deleting the whole thing), just watch a good Youtube clip like this one. It's one of my favorite songs, Unwritten, and sung by Esmée Denters with a surprise cameo by Natasha Bedingfield herself. It always puts me in a good mood. Well, that and these videos. This concludes our Dr. Phil advice for the day. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 04:37, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- This is guaranteed to make you smile. Honestly. -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 05:39, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- The original version of that clip has over 40 million views and is one of the most watched clips of all time on YT. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 05:48, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Not quite done. Very good vids, APK. The QAF video featured Save the Last Dance for Me and that song, along with many other Motown songs, transport me to a very happy place. One of my favorites is Stand By Me, sung by Ben E. King, and especially as used in the movie Stand By Me. "No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid Just as long as you stand, stand by me" Check this one out. Requiscat in Pace, River. — Becksguy (talk) 05:58, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I might be a child of the 80s, but I still love Oldies. I've listened to Save the Last Dance for Me a million times on my iPod, loves it. Two other good songs on my iPod are Unchained Melody and of course, Son of a Preacher Man. :-) AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:07, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Isn't River supposed to be one of ours? There's a minor comment on his talk page, but that's it. Hm. -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 06:13, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I never heard that before, but that's interesting. I'm not really familiar with River because he died before I was allowed to watch movies that weren't G-rated. (sometimes I could watch PG movies and I'm not joking) A google search doesn't come up with a RS, but I'm going to be looking for one. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:20, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Isn't River supposed to be one of ours? There's a minor comment on his talk page, but that's it. Hm. -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 06:13, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have about 35 versions of Unchained Melody, from the original 1955 version by Les Baxter and Al Hibbler, to the great version by The Righteous Brothers and later.
- I remember, I think, an Esquire interview or article in which River Phoenix was said to be bisexual. Have to look it up now. — Becksguy (talk) 06:25, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- This google search comes up with a little bit more. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:29, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Here's the link to the Esquire article on his sexuality and his life. Although, I think River was pansexual, or even just sexual (try-sexual), and I'm not sure the labels applied to him, considering the unconventional upbringing he had. He was a free spirit. — Becksguy (talk) 06:33, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Do you think this is enough to add to his article and possibly tag for the project? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:38, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
In all honesty, no. I think we need another RS, although Esquire certainly should be reliable enough. However, there will be major drama and reverting if that's added without additional backup, I think. Some people will be very protective of his reputation, although I think it just makes him more human and admirable. What do others think? Have you seen Stand By Me since it came out in 1986, APK? If not, please do. A very good DVD with extras is out. BTW, APK, did you see my comment on Unchained Melody (to completely change the subject back for a moment) — Becksguy (talk) 06:51, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, hopefully one of us will find an additional source. I've never seen that movie, but will have to head over to Blockbuster soon. I saw the previous comment. I only have the Righteous Brothers' version. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 07:00, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I like Harry Belafonte's rendition. That's interesting about River Phoenix. Aleta Sing 13:42, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- The only thing I know about Belafonte is that he's a big supporter of Hugo Chavez. Which means he's off his rocker, but I'll see if I can find that version and have a listen. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 13:47, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know much about his politics, but he used to be a wonderful singer! (I think he's lost most of his voice now...?) Aleta Sing 13:52, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Speaking of music, the only "legal" music at the college (PCC stands for Pensacola Concentration Camp) I was forced to attend was this kind of music. They didn't even allow "contemporary christian" music. Perfect video. It was like living in some 1950s Pentecostal prison. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 14:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I wrote my very brilliant, extremely logical, and exceptionally cogent keep comment, and then before saving, took a quick nap, and then found the AfD closed when I woke up. I'm also very modest - lol. Oh well. Hey, play that game or even better, have a cup of coffee at Starbucks (another addiction) with you any time APK. Raleigh NC area NRHPs, and photos
Hi -- Nice work on Ritcher House and other articles you've announced at WP:NRHP. I wanted to ask if you could get pics for the 2 of 3 National Historic Landmarks in Raleigh that currently lack pics, in List of National Historic Landmarks in North Carolina. Not sure if you may be taking and uploading some of the pics yourself, but I clicked on the Ritcher House pic and find my way to the NPS webpage where you got it from.
Some such NPS webpages include photos that are NPS-owned, so what you did seems reasonable to try. But for this photo of the Ritcher House, it is identified as NOT a NPS photo, with caption "The Ritcher House is an example of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian design. Photo by Jerry Blow, courtesy of Raleigh Historic Districts Commission". If you consult the NPS page that talks about copyright of pictures in its website, i believe it is clear this is NOT public domain. The NPS is clear that it uses, with permission, some copyrighted pictures, and those do not go into the public domain just because the NPS uses them. So, actually, i think this one should be deleted. I am sure you want to do the right thing here, too, though it is unfortunate to have to take a step back. RSVP, doncram (talk) 23:01, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- I don't live in NC anymore, but I've been asking a few people to take pictures if they can. Some of the captions in these profiles say different things. Some say from the "National Register Collection." Is that allowed to be added to the article? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 00:26, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Clarence Lightner
Clarence Lightner should appear on the front page DYK section sometime in the next few hours. Are you a DYK virgin or have you had stuff up there before? Happy Easter. - House of Scandal (talk) 07:35, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks! Yeah, I noticed that. Thanks for beefing up the history section. Do you know if an article has to be a certain length to reach GA status? I want to do some more work on his article. Also, I think this would make a good DYK, but I would need to find some more info and a free picture. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 12:59, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, damn. That didn't stay on the page very long. I've never really paid attention to the main page, so I guess they rotoate DYK's fairly quickly. My 15 minutes are up! AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 15:42, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Did you get a DYK from the suggestion I gave you? That's very cool. If you used some other information, then...eh. Somewhat cool. Just kidding...Congratulations! (That Easter pic with Nancy Reagan is creepy.) --Moni3 (talk) 15:51, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- The hook was "that Clarence Lightner was the first African-American elected mayor of any metropolitan Southern United States city?" (similar to the one you mentioned, but HoS nominated it and came up with that sentence) The Easter pic cracked me up when I saw it. Only I would send out WikiEaster greetings with such an odd picture and message. After talking to Philippe this morning, I should have added "George W was notified and sent Cheney to hunt the wabbits down with his infamous shotgun." Happy Easter
Happy Easter 2008. We will not see Easter this early again in our lifetimes, most likely, unless we will live for another 152 years. From the article on Easter: The calculations for the date of Easter are somewhat complicated. In the Western Church, Easter has not fallen on the earliest of the 35 possible dates, March 22, since 1818, and will not do so again until 2285. It did, however, fall on March 23 in 2008, but will not do so again until 2160. Peace brother. — Becksguy (talk) 13:28, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- I drink too many Jägerbombs to live for another 152 years. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 13:35, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Remind me to never go drinking with you..... I gave that up years ago. — Becksguy (talk) 13:38, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I hate the taste of liquor and rarely drink. I'll have an occassional glass of red wine (I like Yellow Tail shiraz...I know, I'm cheap), but I detest screwdrivers, Cape Cods, Jack & coke, etc. When I do drink it's only jager shots, LIT's, and pomegranate martinis. Hey APK - thanks for the message. Jesus (and I) smile at you. You are Jesus' favorite 'Mo on Wikipedia. --David Shankbone 16:31, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- OMG! You know him. Hey Jesus! How you be durrin!?! AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 16:33, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm durrin fine. Bless ya, girl! --David Shankbone 16:43, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah - I'd like to be "back" there too. --David Shankbone 16:46, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- (drumroll) You don't even want to know what my original comment was before I hit backspace. It's wasn't Christian. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 16:48, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- That's why Jesus loves you - you make his work a challenge! He's kind of bored of the Evangelicals. --David Shankbone 00:24, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
MLK Memorial Garden, Raleigh
Hi - I'm not sure if the garden itself would be notable - it's unlikely to have attracted enough scholarly sources writing about it. If you wrote about the history of the African American community of Raleigh, that would be certainly be notable, as you could cover some of its history, and then you could incorporate community leaders who are recognized at the garden.
Raleigh is one of the two major cities, had a strong community in the 19th c., probably had a number of free people of color before the war. The pieces of history which I've read about Raleigh make the black community sound noteworthy - educated and middle class before many others: churches, schools, businesses. That's one approach. The difficulty with the garden, I think, is that it is probably not a first, and is not by an independently notable architect/landscape designer. Another way to approach it may be the "class of MLK Memorials in various cities" - what do they share and how are they different? I believe the major one was designed by Maya Lin, who did the Vietnam Memorial. It has water running over it- the first, I think.--Parkwells (talk) 23:31, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, the history one would definitely make a good article. I just need to do some research and figure out what all I need to add. Thanks for the help. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 04:31, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Leonard Hall
Another you should nominate for DYK! --Aleta Sing 22:49, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. :-) Yeah, I'm gonna try DYK again. I've been working on that article off and on since yesterday. It was hard to find those pictures. I had to learn about the Snipping Tool feature that I never knew existed on my laptop because the source wouldn't let me right click and copy the pix. I wish I could find a free use pic of the building as it looks today. Thanks for fixing those typos. I'm terrible at catching those in my articles. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:03, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- No problem! :) (I like doing that kind of gnome-work.) Aleta Sing 23:12, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- ...that Leonard Hall's four year African-Americans medical graduates in 1886 (pictured) were was the first in the United States? by AgnosticPreachersKid Hope you don't mind. I saw this and nominated it. I added an extra ref and rearranged the facts to make the great picture work. There seems to be two two dates quoted for the pic but i'm gussing that 1886 is correct. cheers Victuallers (talk) 23:06, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks! I left you a comment at the same time apparently. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:07, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- In the actual nomination, you need to make sure Leonard Hall points to the right page. Above it points to a disambiguation page I made out of a redirect. Aleta Sing 23:11, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out. I fixed the nom. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:15, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- YW. Do you really dislike tables of contents? I've noticed you always put NOTOC. I just removed it from Leonard Hall. (I like having tables of contents!) Aleta Sing 23:28, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- You say to-may-toe, I say to-mah-toe... Aleta Sing 23:37, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

- Haha, only on shorter articles. Sometimes it seems to help with the look of the layout when the TOC is removed. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:30, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- I just noticed the hook says "were was" and corrected the nomination. OMG, I actually found a typo! YAY! AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:34, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

The hook says the picture is of the 1886 graduates, but it's actually the 1889 graduates. What's another way I could word the hook? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 02:04, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- "...the 1889 graduates of..."? Aleta Sing 02:32, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- But the first part of the hook is about the graduates being the first in the country. That's referring to the 1886 graduates. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 02:43, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, and that's a different group than who's pictured - I see now what you are saying. Hmmm, let me think! Aleta Sing 02:55, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

"...that Leonard Hall's four year African-Americans medical graduates in 1886, including M.T. Pope (pictured here along with the graduating class of 1889), were the first in the United States?" Maybe something along those lines? Aleta Sing 02:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- TYPO!!!! :P "were was" lol. I'm gonna ask HoS and see what he thinks. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 03:01, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Heheh, you can tell I copied and pasted then modified from there! Aleta Sing 03:03, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Congrats on the Leonard Hall article for DYK! Great pic, too. Also, I've made some additions to Clarence Lightner that should help with Good Article status (but don't really know how they judge - put in what I thought was worth knowing for more understanding).--Parkwells (talk) 12:44, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- How about "...that Shaw University’s Leonard Hall (1889 class pictured) awarded degrees to the first class of four year African-American medical students in the United States?" or actually I suppose "...that Shaw University’s Leonard Hall (1889 class pictured) housed the first class of four year African-American medical students in the United States?" - - House of Scandal (talk) 13:38, 25 March 2008 (UTC)"
- Thanks for the suggestions. I added the 2nd one to the DYK talk page. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 14:56, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey APK - I thought about you today when I was at Focus on the Family. They had a big photo of you in their hallway as Public Enemy No. 1 - apparently, you are *not* Jesus' favorite Wikipedian. I'm sorry. Perhaps if you write James Dobson he could intervene on your behalf...?
Of course, afterwards I went to photograph the Air Force Academy, and that made me think of you again, and that you'd probably prefer to be "hanging" in there than at FotF. --David Shankbone 02:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- I love bumper stickers I've seen at Pride shops that say, "Focus On Your Own Damn Family." I should buy one and send it to Jimmy. Air Force Academy you say? Hmmm, APK grew up near Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and he loves to "support" the troops in any way possible.
They can park their jet in my hangar any dayThey can come by and say hey to me any day. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 02:17, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- But "Sailors have more fun" [3], and "Submariners do it deeper" [4]. Plus some more ...DO bumper stickers I can't repeat here. So there! — Becksguy (talk) 02:25, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I lived in Pensacola for 4 years, so I got the Navy covered. My sister use to live in Fayetteville, so I have the Army covered. She now lives in Jacksonville, so I have the Marines covered. I guess the only branch I haven't screwed is the Coast Guard. Connecticut, here I come! AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 02:42, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- After reading that I am going to go back and buy you the pack of Christian stickers ("Faith That Sticks!"). Perhaps you need some churchin'. And Becksguy - I hold you responsible for corrupting our APK. (And I caught that Annapolis ref before you changed it to CT!) --David Shankbone 02:46, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- :-) Yeah, Annapolis isn't that far from me. Luckily for them, I don't own a car. Hertz, here I come! Becksguy can't corrupt me. I'm a preacher's kid remember. We really are the worst ones. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 02:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

I can't believe no one has made a comment about one of the new pictures I added on my userpage. I don't even have to point out which one I'm referring to. You'll know when you see it. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 02:49, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Actually APK, Benjiboi, and Allstar, and all the rest of this project are corrupting me. I'm innocent of any wrong doing. Virginal even. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Signed: the 40+ year old virgin. — Becksguy (talk) 03:26, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
BTW, APK, I'm the son of a (Evangelical Lutheran) preacher's atheistic daughter. (Figure that one out....) Preachers Atheistic Grandkid? (AKA PAK, or PAG, maybe PAGK) Hehe.... Smoke that <CRAP> — 03:36, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
BTW, why is this thread under Focus on the Family. I don't even want to be on the same planet with them, never mind in the same section. Really. Words fail me. — 03:41, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- My ADHD spills over into WP. I rarely keep my talk page threads on topic. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 09:04, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- I know that feeling. I have major Adult ADD myself. If I weren't addicted to Wikipedia, I would never get around to doing anything here, as I am a world class procrastinator (and more). So should I change my nickname to: PAK, PAG, PAGK, ADDguy or what? And I still say y'all corrupted me. — Becksguy (talk) 21:46, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Change it to BOBguy. Let's see if you can figure that one out. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 22:04, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

This comment you made...
is exactly why I think it will happen (if you want it). I know exactly what type of editors you are talking about - playing the "wiki-game" with secret pages, guestbooks, etc. I love being an editor here. Now that I'm admin (since Jan08), this place gets under my skin way more than it used to. That being said, I really enjoy the extra buttons as they've made work here a lot easier and even more rewarding. And I really like looking at deleted pages :-). Keep up the good work. I've seen you around a bit, (I think first at Aleta's rfa, not sure though). If you ever need any help with anything, let me know! (I don't do email or IRC, a rarity amongst admins, so if it's ever something really private you'll hafta look elsewhere.) Otherwise, my talk is always open. Cheers, Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 22:20, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks! Yeah, I had a barnstar from someone's secret page game, but then I saw the comments the person was making about becoming an admin (waaaaay too anxious), so I removed the barnstar so as not to be associated with that user. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 22:24, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Admin wannabe's
don't do 3RR's like you did at Shankbone's neurotic conspiracy page. But if it (adminship) happens, it happens, right? What a crock of shit! You will never be an admin, you don't have what it takes, save loneliness and a friendless existence.
Oh, and in case you missed the edit summary over at Shankbone's conspiracy page, I'll post it here: Just think, if your father had loved you, you wouldn't have turned out queer, and you could've lived a normal life.
Happy editing, you queer queer.
