"Climate security is food security. Poverty and access to justice are inextricably linked. Intersecting challenges demand intersectional solutions," said Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield.
"We want the Iraqi people, as we would want in any country, to have access to consistent, safe energy," said State Department Deputy Spokesperson Patel.
“Over the last two decades, countries in Latin America and the Caribbean have lost the equivalent of 1.7 percent of GDP each year on average due to climate related disasters,” said USAID Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman.
“By improving the backbone of our supply chains, better infrastructure will help ensure that the goods that our people rely on — semiconductors, electric vehicle batteries, medical supplies — are more affordable, more secure and made right here in the Americas,” said Secretary Blinken.
"To create more equitable, sustainable, and peaceful communities across Colombia, more must be done to expand land rights, climate-smart agriculture, and access to financing," said Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield.
The NATO Summit in Washington will, as Secretary Blinken said, “make sure that we have the right defenses across the Alliance where they’re needed ... It’s manifestly in the interests of the people that all of us represent.”
"The PRC’s military buildup ... is upsetting the regional balance," said Deputy Secretary Campbell. "What happens in the region will affect all Americans and the people of many or our allies and partners around the world."
The DPRK's "repression and totalitarianism, proliferation and gamesmanship, makes each and every one of us less safe. And," said Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield, "it has a profound human cost."
“The United States can be secure only if Asia is secure,” said Defense Secretary Austin.
"Until Russia ceases its attacks and withdraws from Ukraine, the United States will remain committed to providing Ukraine what it needs to defend itself," said USUN Ambassador Wood.
“The spirit of Ukrainians cannot be destroyed by a bomb or buried in a mass grave. It cannot be bought with a bribe or repressed with a threat,” said Secretary Blinken. “That’s why Ukraine will succeed.”
