Welcome to Cochrane Emergency and Critical Care (EC)
We are proud members of Cochrane, an esteemed international not-for-profit organization committed to providing accurate and up-to-date information on the effects of healthcare worldwide.
Our team consists of dedicated clinicians, statisticians, administrative staff, an Information Specialist, and a Managing Editor. Together, our goal is to create and disseminate systematic reviews of healthcare interventions within the peri-operative care of individuals undergoing surgery. This includes addressing general issues that are common among many patients, as well as conducting targeted reviews focused on specific types of surgery or patient populations.
Our journey began with an informational meeting held during the European Society of Anaesthesiologists' Annual Meeting in Barcelona in April 1998. Subsequent meetings were organized in Orlando during the American Society of Anesthesiologists' annual meeting in 1998, and at the Cochrane Colloquium in Baltimore in October 1998. The exploratory meeting took place in Amsterdam in May 1999, and on February 8, 2000, the Cochrane Anaesthesia, Critical, and Emergency Care Group was officially registered within the Cochrane organization.
