JOURNAL CONTENT

The official journal title is Nutrition Research and Practice. Abbreviated title is Nutr Res Pract.

The Nutrition Research and Practice had been published quarterly at the initial stage and has been published bimonthly since 2010(on the last day of every two months).

Original manuscripts will be considered with the understanding that no part has been published, simultaneously submitted, or already accepted for publication elsewhere, other than in abstract form. The copyright transfer occurs from the author(s) to the NRP upon acceptance. Material published in the NRP is copyrighted by the Korean Society of Community Nutrition and the Korean Nutrition Society, and may not be reproduced without the written permission from the Editors-in-Chief, Dr. Eunju Park or Dr. Jae Eun Shim. If the original source is cited, the abstract appearing at the beginning of each article may be reproduced without permission. Every author should sign the copyright transfer agreement forms (https://e-nrp.org/index.php?body=instructions).

JOURNAL PRACTICES

The NRP follows the Guideline on Good Publication of COPE (https://publicationethics.org) and Recommendations of International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (https://www.icmje.org/recommendations). Our publication ethics and related editorial policies are displayed on the For contributors (Code of Research Ethics) tab (https://e-nrp.org/index.php?body=ethics) and the For contributors (Instruction for Authors) tab (https://e-nrp.org/index.php?body=instructions) of the journal website.
The Editorial Board of the Nutrition Research and Practice carefully examines whether all submitted manuscripts abide the ethical guidelines of ICMJE and COPE. The published articles should include the statements of conflict of interest, informed consent, and approval of Institutional Review Board. When the journal faces suspected cases of research and publication misconduct such as a redundant (duplicate) publication, plagiarism, fabricated data, changes in authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, an ethical problem discovered with the submitted manuscript, a reviewer who has appropriated an author’s idea or data, complaints against editors, and other issues, the resolving process will follow the flowchart provided by COPE (https://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts). The Editorial Board of the Nutrition Research and Practice will discuss the suspected cases and reach a decision. The Nutrition Research and Practice will not hesitate to publish errata, corrigenda, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when needed. If anyone does not agree or accept the decision by the Society in the process of ethical issues, those may be referred to the Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors (https://kamje.or.kr) or the appropriate committee of the corresponding institutes.

The NRP reviews all manuscripts received and all submitted manuscripts will be treated as confidential. A manuscript is first reviewed for its format and adherence to the aims and scope of the journal. If the manuscript meets these two criteria, it is dispatched to two investigators in the field with relevant knowledge.
The NRP adopts double-blind peer review, which means that the reviewers and authors cannot identify each others’ information. The authors’ names and affiliations are removed during peer review.
Assuming the manuscript is sent to reviewers, the NRP waits to receive opinions from at least two reviewers. In addition, if deemed necessary, a review of statistics may be requested. The acceptance criteria for all papers are based on the quality and originality of the research and its scientific significance. Acceptance of the manuscript is decided based on the critiques and recommended decision of the reviewers.
An initial decision will normally be made within 8 weeks of receipt of a manuscript, and the reviewers’ comments are sent to the corresponding author by the online submission and peer review system. The corresponding author must indicate the alterations that have been made in response to the reviewers’ comments item by item. Failure to resubmit the revised manuscript within 4 weeks of the editorial decision is regarded as a withdrawal. A final decision on acceptance/rejection for publication is forwarded to the corresponding author from the editor. The corresponding author will be notified as soon as possible of the editor’s decision to accept, reject, or request for the revision of the manuscripts after the review process. When the final manuscript is completely acceptable according to the NRP format and criteria, it is scheduled for publication in the next available issue.

The NRP is an open access journal. A free full-text service, both in XML and PDF formats, is available immediately upon publication in forthcoming without an embargo period. (However, papers published online before current issue confirmation are not marked with DOI or page.).
