Charles Romley Alder Wright
Charles Romley Alder Wright (* 1844 in Southend, Essex; † 25. Juli 1894) war ein britischer Chemiker.
Wright war Dozent für Chemie an der Medizinfakultät des St Mary's Hospital, London.
1874 gelang ihm im Rahmen einer Konstitutionsaufklärung des Morphin-Moleküls, erstmals die Acetylierung des Morphins und damit die Erfindung des Diacetylmorphins (Heroin). Testen ließ er es von Frederick M. Pierce am Owens College.
1881 wurde er Mitglied der Royal Society.
Zeitgleich mit C. Thompson entwickelte er eine Brennstoffzelle.
