#7863 closed defect (bug) (fixed)

The Widgets UI is terrible. Let's not fix it for 2.7. (warn users that they need to "save" after making changes)

Description

There are many problems with the current widgets UI. One is that it is unclear that you have to click the global "Save" button after changing individual widgets.

Attached for consideration:

  1. After you make a change to a widget for the first time, display a warning that you have to save.
  2. When you try to leave the page without saving, ask for confirmation.
  3. Change action-sounding "Change" button in individual widgets to more passive "Done".

This is a band-aid. Not a real solution.

Can't we just ditch it and roll it back to the previous drag/drop? Seriously, why did we take a step back to this garbage UI anyway?
