From the South
  • Take I-95 North to Exit 22 for “Central Phila/I-676.”
  • Follow signs for “Phila/Independence Hall/Callowhill Street.
  • Keep right at the fork in the ramp.
  • Stay straight on Callowhill Street.
  • Turn left onto 6th Street.
  • Take 6th Street to Race Street and turn left.
  • Once on Race Street, turn right into the parking garage at the National Constitution Center.
From the North
  • Take I-95 South to Exit 22 for “Central Phila/I-676.”
  • Follow signs for “Phila/Independence Hall/Callowhill Street” and turn right at the light at the bottom of the ramp.
  • Stay straight on Callowhill Street and turn left onto 6th Street.
  • Take 6th Street to Race Street and turn left.
  • Once on Race Street, turn right into the parking garage at the National Constitution Center.
From the West
  • Take PA Turnpike to Exit 326 for “Valley Forge.”
  • Follow signs for “Philadelphia I-76 East.”
  • Remain on I-76 East for about 25 miles until you see signs for Exit 344 for “Central Phila” and take 676 East to the 8th Street exit.
  • Turn right onto 8th Street
  • Turn left onto Race Street.
  • Proceed through the light at 6th Street and turn right into the parking garage at the National Constitution Center.
From the East
  • Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 4.
  • Take Route 73 North to Route 38 West to U.S. 30.
  • Continue on U.S. 30 West over the Ben Franklin Bridge (Route 676), crossing into Philadelphia.
  • Stay in the left lane and go straight through the light following the sign for “8th Street South/Chinatown.”
  • Turn left onto 8th Street,
  • Turn left onto Race Street.
  • Proceed through the light at 6th Street and turn right into the parking garage at the National Constitution Center.

Enter from Race Street between 5th Street and 6th Street.

The National Constitution Center's parking garage is open seven days a week, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Please note, the parking garage closes at 5 p.m. daily, but parkers may access the garage after hours via a callbox.

*The garage may extend its hours for evening programs.

Bus Loading and Parking

  • For loading and unloading groups, buses may use the Independence Transportation Center adjacent to the National Constitution Center. The entrance is located off Race Street between 5th and 6th streets. Download the map for buses (PDF) for more information.
  • For parking, buses may use the Callowhill Bus Center, located on Callowhill Street between 2nd and 3rd streets.

Public Transportation

SEPTA

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority offers a vast option of transit services, including buses, trolleys, trackless trolleys, subways, and regional rail.

To get to the National Constitution Center, use the Market-Frankford Line subway and get off at 5th Street Station, or use the Route 38, Route 44, or Route 48 buses.

Receive a $2 discount off regular adult admission when you present your valid SEPTA TrailPass, TransPass, One Day Independence Pass, or SEPTA Employee ID. Must be redeemed in person at the National Constitution Center admissions desk.

PATCO

The Port Authority Transit Corporation offers a high-speed train line between Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.

To get to the National Constitution Center, use the PATCO Speedline and get off at 8th Street Station.

Amtrak

Amtrak provides train service to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. 30th Street Station also provides access to SEPTA public transit.

The Phlash is a quick, easy, and inexpensive connection to key Philadelphia historic attractions and cultural institutions. The bright purple trolley stops at 6th and Market Streets near the National Constitution Center.
