Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their source is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 08:10, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
File:Kentucky Bourbon Trail Passport.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

- This image has been authorized for widespread distribution by the Kentucky Distillers' Association. I reached out to them and used instructions on the website. Instructions are to just list that it is from them, which I did. No reason for this deletion.

- The link you provide doesn't state a CC0 license. If you contact them, then tell them to send a explicit permission to COM:VRT. Günther Frager (talk) 22:10, 3 July 2024 (UTC)
- I reached out to them, they will be responding soon. This goes for all your deletion requests here. Nolansfood (talk) 22:22, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

Copyright violations
[edit]
Hello Nolansfood.
You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions. |

- I find your message to be rather condescending. I got the permission for all of them prior to posting and it is a matter of time before they are all posted. So far I got my first permission posted. The other 2 are pending. I did not “violate copyrights despite being warned”. Look at the comments. So if I’m ever accused of “violating a copyright”, it should first be looked into before a block is made. An accusation and an act are 2 different things. I can accuse you of murder but did you do it? Nolansfood (talk) 14:34, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
