Hello Georgfotoart,

I noticed you've uploaded multiple images that differ only in size, and I thought I should draw your attention to a certain feature of our software. MediaWiki, the software which drives Commons and other projects like Wikipedia, is able to handle reducing the size of the images automatically. For example, even though File:Red Apple.jpg is a very large picture (2418 × 2192 pixel), MediaWiki can automatically generate thumbnails in all sizes (example: 50-pixel thumbnail).

You can include a resized thumbnail of any image in a Wikipedia article using [[File:Red Apple.jpg|thumb|Description here]]

For a narrower image – those in upright or portrait aspect ratio  – use [[File:Red Apple.jpg|thumb|upright|Description here]]

Thanks to this feature, you only need to upload the highest-resolution image you have available. That's why some of your files will be deleted soon, while your larger image will remain available for use and resizing. I also recommend reading the picture tutorial, you will find answer for nearly all your questions regarding use of images there. Thank you and happy uploading.

@GPSLeo: Hallo. So etwas in der Art hatte ich schon befürchtet.
Aber laut Lizens kann jeder meine Bilder auch ... weiterverkaufen. Ich bin zwar nur Hobbyfotograf, möcht aber schon ein Teil der Unkosten wieder reinbekommen. Bei voller Auflösung ist das Unmöglich. Mit der Namensnennung ist es nicht getan.
Die kleineren Bilder scheinen mir da ein Kompromiß zu sein - oder gibt es andere Varianten? GrußGruß --Georgfotoart (talk) 10:32, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Ziel des Projektes ist es freie Medien zu sammeln und weiter zu verbreiten und das möglichst einfach für alle. Es geht genau darum, dass Menschen kein Geld brauchen um die Fotos zu nutzen und etwas neues damit zu machen. Du nutzt ja eine Copyleft Lizenz, dass heißt es kann zwar jeder deine Bilder verkaufen, muss dabei aber zwingend angeben, dass sie auch kostenlos unter der entsprechenden Lizenz zur Verfügung stehen. Einfach so nur die freien Bilder zu vermarkten wäre sowieso ziemlich unverschämt. Außerdem ist es Lizenzrechtlich gar nicht möglich zwischen verschiedenen Dateien des gleichen Fotos zu unterscheiden, die Lizenz ist für das Werk als solches und nicht für die Datei. --GPSLeo (talk) 13:38, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Das ist so zwar alles Richtig, aber Unverschämtheit ist kein Rechtskriterium. Wer die Bilder in geringer Auflösung verkaufen will, kann das tun - es ist ausdrücklich erlaubt. Nicht hochgeladene Auflösungen können auch nicht mißbräuchlich verwendet werden - das zu Kontollieren ist unmöglich. Alles Andere ist ohnehin kostenlos.

Trotzdem behalte ich mir vor, die hohe Auflösung selbst zu vermarkten.

In der FAQ steht ausdrücklich: „Du als Urheber bist nicht an die Lizenzbestimmungen gebunden, da die Wikipedia kein ausschließliches Nutzungsrecht erwirbt.“ Wie verhält es Damit? --Georgfotoart (talk) 14:51, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Commons ist ein Projekt das der Allgemeinheit dienen soll und keine Werbeplattform zum Verkauf von Nutzungsrechten. Verlinkungen und Hinweise auf eigene Seiten, auf denen auch Sachen verkauft werden könne, sind in einem Gewissen Rahmen erlaubt, klare Werbung, außerhalb der Userpage, aber nicht. Gute Beispiele für Filepages mit angemessener Eigenwerbung sind z.B. File:Münster, LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur, Lichtkunstwerk "Silberne Frequenz" -- 2020 -- 7950.jpg oder File:MiQua-Baustelle - archäologische Grabungen Juni 2020-9230.jpg. Ich habe nur einen kleinen schlichten Kasten File:Pride demonstration Berlin 2020-06-27 63.jpg. Zu der Auflösung: Das hat nichts mit den Nutzungsbedingungen hier zu tun, sondern mit der Lizenz. Soweit ich gesehen habe, sind NC-Lizenzen nicht zugelassen - oder müssen die extra beantragt werden?

An meinen Bildern habe ich nur einen (unauffälligen) link auf der Bildbeschreibungsseite. Wenn das nicht erlaubt ist, werde ich es ändern. Beim Münster-Bild nimmt die Werbung allerdings die halbe Seite ein. Der Text-Kasten (Berlin) ist auch auf der Bildbeschreibungsseite. Nein NC Bilde gehen nicht, die sind nicht frei [2]. Es geht darum, dass du die volle Auflösung nur auf deiner eigenen Seite, die du verlinkst, hast, dass ist das Problem. Du zwingst Leute, die die Bilder vernünftige Nutzen wollen auf deine Seite, dass ist problematische Werbung. --GPSLeo (talk) 16:59, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Wenn es nur an der Werbung liegt - das kann ich umgehend ändern. Trotzdem werde ich vom Urheberrecht gebrauch machen und die Bilder nicht verschenken. Ich bin gern bereit, den Informationsgehalt der Bilder zur Verfügung zu stellen (Artikelbebilderung oder anderes). Bisher habe ich WIKI für ein Informationsportal gehalten.

Schiffskategorien

Moin Georgfotoart, zunächst einmal vielen Dank für deine Beiträge. Bei der Bearbeitung von Kategorien, insbesondere Schiffskategorien, bitte ich zu beachten, dass Commons international ist und alle Beschreibungen in Englisch sein sollten, andernfalls ist die Vorlage:Deutsch anzuwenden. Bitte auch zu bedenken, dass man mit “Einzelnachweisen” außerhalb des deutschen Sprachraums auch nichts anfangen kann. Moin, ehrlich gesagt bin kein Freund dieser Beschreibungen, denn dafür haben wir ja die Wikidata-Infobox. Das Problem vieler Schiffskategorien (nicht in diesem Fall) ist, dass diese Beschreibungen einmal erstellt, aber kaum aktualisiert werden. Moin Georgfotoart, bezüglich der beiden Ullas mit dem selben Baujahr gibt es folgende Regelung: If there are several ships with the same name built in the same year, the place where the ship was built/location of the shipyard is added: "<name of ship> (ship, <year>, <place>)". Sample: "Mistral (ship, 1999, Saint-Nazaire)" as there are several Mistral (ship, 1999). Aus diesem Grund habe ich die Category:ULLA (ship, 1955) nach Category:Ulla (ship, 1955, Duisburg) und die Category:Ulla (ship, 1955) nach Category:Category:Ulla (ship, 1955, Helsingborg) verschoben. Ja, das ist schon sehr Interessant. Für die Rathenower Gegend gibt es diese Liste und die Category:Historic brickworks in the Elb-Havelwinkel. Wobei ich nicht weiss, wie groß der Elb-Havel-Winkel wirklich ist. Gruß Georgfotoart (talk) 17:38, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Earth 2024 - Deutschland

bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. Mai bis zum 30. Juni 2024 findet zum zwölften Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth (kurz: WLE) statt. Dabei können wie immer Nationalparks, Naturschutzgebiete, Geotope und Naturdenkmäler oder andere Schutzgebiete fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich ein, auch dieses Jahr wieder mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Der Wettbewerb ist zweigeteilt, das heißt, wir unterscheiden zwischen den beiden Wettbewerbskategorien Landschaft und Detail/Makro. Zur Wettbewerbskategorie Landschaft zählen auch geschützte Einzelbäume. In der Wettbewerbskategorie Detail/Makro werden Pflanzen, Tiere und Pilze in den Schutzgebieten bewertet.

Es sind wie immer viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu finden. Neben Naturdenkmälern wie alten Bäumen oder Naturparks im Gebirge und am Meer können Geotope wie Findlinge, Quellen und Aufschlüsse oder FFH-Gebiete fotografiert werden, um sie unter anderem in der Wikipedia zu dokumentieren. Auch im vergangenen Jahr sind zahlreiche neue Listen und Artikel in diesen Bereichen entstanden, die sich über Fotos freuen – zum Beispiel in Bayern die Liste der Naturdenkmäler im Landkreis Landshut oder die Liste der geschützten Landschaftsbestandteile in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern mit ihren Unterlisten oder gar einzelne Artikel wie die Landschaftsschutzgebiete Sommerschafweide an Buchhalden und Sommerschafweide auf Hilbertswiese in Baden-Württemberg.

Wir vergeben in diesem Jahr drei Sonderpreise für Fotos von Feldrainen und Feldgehölzen in geschützten Gebieten.
