CommonismNow for bot
I request bot status for CN because of an request of an wikisource admin. It is dealing around 20.000 images from the ADB, which are in public domain. Expected upload size is around 2000mb.
As you can see on the bot's userpage, the bot serves also for another purpose: for the semi-automatic moving of images to commons. The errors in it which were at the time of first bot request are fixed now completely; when an operator forgets to enter license/categories you can easily find ot the operators name. --HardDisk 17:53, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Oppose why bot status for uploading images? this can be done without. no thanks. --BLueFiSH ✉ 23:24, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- 20 thousand images? :o I wouldn't like to do that by hand. At any rate, the idea of the bot flag is so that iit doesn't crowd out Special:Recentchanges. pfctdayelise (translate?) 05:08, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Oppose no real change since last vote. I'm still very unsure that the main user behind the bot (HardDisk – does his own vote count?) is not doing "nonsense" any more. However, the information provided for each single image within Category:ADB (the project the bot is mainly working on at the moment) were not matching the minimum information requirements for Commons uploads until my change. The bot edits by someone who apparently doesn't know, that specific information on source and age clearly have to be stated directly on the image page, instead of only being reachable with several more clicks (as it was before), shouldn't be hidden on Recentchanges – they definitely need (more) control by other users. --:Bdk: 07:07, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Comment: Please blame Timo for the template, not me. I am not the one responsible for it, I only operate the bot. HardDisk 15:04, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
- sorry, but i have to say this: Please blame my officier for the instruction, not me. I am not the one responsible for it, I only fired the rifle. --BLueFiSH ✉ 16:18, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
- lol. very amazing joke. your comments were once better.HardDisk 20:17, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
Oppose Every one is uploading images, that is the idea in commons. We are supposed to see the uploading. I use an application to upload images to commons, some times a 100 a time, that is a bot. It does not mean I must have bot status. Bot status is for some thing no one cares to see, at least that is what I belive --Tarawneh 00:46, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
Oppose - feeding 20.000 text scans into commons sounds not like a good idea to me. Commons was made as a deposit for media and picture files, not for mirroring already existing online-encyclopedias. --Anathema 08:34, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
Oppose - The bot was used in a way I can't trust it will be used thoughtfully in future. Arnomane 09:09, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Comment what do you mean with this? explain, please.HardDisk 18:36, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- With Uploadin more than 1000 gif files with poor image description and so forth was simply the wrong way. 5 Images would have been enough for a first demo and feedback and then if people have made some suggests as well you would have been able uploading the rest. Arnomane 18:21, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
