English: Laura Drake Gill (24 August 1860-3 February 1926), American educational administrator and reformer, the third dean of Barnard College at Columbia University. Joined the Red Cross during the Spanish-American War and was in charge of hospital affairs in Cuba and the Cuban Orphan Society. During WWI, with the U.S. Employment Service in the Department of Labor. After the war, worked with the Pine Mountain Settlement, a school for mountain children in Kentucky. The Liberty-class ship, SS Laura Drake Gill, was named after her in 1944.
