English: Charles Ingraham Gorman was a world champion speed skater, New Brunswick's first Winter Olympian and a businessman from Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. He served in the First World War as a Corporal in the Machine Gun Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. Known as "the man with the million dollar legs" and "the Human Dynamo", Gorman was the winner of of Canadian, U.S., North American and World speed skating championships, competed in the 1924 and 1928 Winter Olympics, and set seven officially recognized world records. After he retired from speed skating, Gorman operated a chain of gas stations in Saint John. An arena and a street in Saint John are named after him, and a monument to Gorman stands in Saint John's King's Square.
