Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2018 is open!
editDear 1857a,
You are receiving this message because we noticed that you voted in R1 of the 2018 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in the second round. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2018) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked.
In the final (and current) round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2018.
Round 2 will end 17 March 2019, 23:59:59.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 18:03, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
Tallahassee to Tallahasse, Florida by decade
editHi. If you feel strongly about moving Category:Tallahassee by decade to Category:Tallahassee, Florida by decade, I won't argue with you about that (though I do support the policy of proposing moves on talk pages and giving time for comments before moving things around unilaterally). However when you do something like that, please fix it thoroughly. Notice Category:Tallahassee_by_decade, and how the subcategories are now in both the old and new category names. Please finish cleaning up your renaming. (Hint: where it says "Tallahassee", change all instances to "Tallahassee, Florida" if you're trying to make that the standard.) Thanks much. Cheers, -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk)
- Thanks! Well done -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 00:55, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- I seem to have thanked you too soon, as you made progress but have yet to finish the job. The Tallahassee by year connections templates are still broken since your category move. All the year cats are still at "Year in Tallahassee" (which is fine by me; less to type, and other examples like Orlando use the format without the state name). Compare the navigation template at the top of Category:2014_in_Tallahassee (doesn't work) with Category:2014 in Orlando (works). Thanks for your attention. Cheers, -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 23:31, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
- In my defense, it looks like you and others created a lot of these Tallahassee year categories without the state name after I did my category moves. For example, you created Category:2014 in Tallahassee but the template already required "Tallahassee, Florida", and all the parent categories already had the state name in the title. 1857a (talk) 19:47, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
