Induced Activation in the Future Charge-Exchange Injection System of the PS Booster
/ Froeschl, R (CERN) ; Bertone, C (CERN) ; Borburgh, J (CERN) ; Burger, S (CERN) ; Dallocchio, A (CERN) ; Dobers, T (CERN) ; Garlasche, M (CERN) ; Hanke, K (CERN) ; Hansen, J (CERN) ; Hourican, M (CERN) et al.
CERN’s Linac2 currently injects protons with a kinetic energy of 50 MeV into the PS Booster (PSB). Linac2 will be replaced by Linac4 which will inject H$^-$ ions with a kinetic energy of 160 MeV into the PSB. [...]

Operational considerations for the PSB H- Injection System
/ Weterings, W (CERN) ; Aiba, M (CERN) ; Borburgh, J (CERN) ; Carli, C (CERN) ; Fowler, T (CERN) ; Goddard, B (CERN)
For the LINAC4 project the PS Booster (PSB) injection system will be upgraded. The 160 MeV Hbeam will be distributed to the 4 superimposed PSB synchrotron rings and horizontally injected by means of an H- charge-exchange system. [...]

Diagnostic Lines for the 160 MeV H Linac4 at CERN
/ Mikulec, B (CERN) ; Bellodi, G (CERN) ; Hanke, K (CERN) ; Hermanns, T (CERN) ; Eshraqi, M (ESS, Lund, Sweden)
Linac4 will be the new linear accelerator of the CERN accelerator chain delivering H- ions at 160 MeV from 2016. The increased injection energy compared to the 50 MeV of its predecessor Linac2, combined with a H- charge-exchange injection, will pave the way to reach ultimate goals for the LHC luminosity. [...]

First experience with carbon stripping foils for the 160 MeV H− injection into the CERN PSB
/ Weterings, Wim (CERN) ; Bracco, Chiara (CERN) ; Jorat, Louise (CERN) ; Noulibos, Remy (CERN) ; van Trappen, Pieter (CERN)
160 MeV H$^−$ beam will be delivered from the new CERN linear accelerator (Linac4) to the Proton Synchrotron Booster (PSB), using a H$^−$ charge-exchange injection system. A $200 \mu \rm{g/cm}^2$ carbon stripping foil will convert H$^−$ into protons by stripping off the electrons. [...]

Measurements with the stripping foil test stand in the Linac4 Transfer Line
/ Bracco, Chiara (CERN) ; Jorat, Louise (CERN) ; Noulibos, Remy (CERN) ; van Trappen, Pieter (CERN) ; Weterings, Wim (CERN)
In 2020, after the CERN accelerators complex Long Shutdown 2 (LS2), a novel Linac4 (L4)-to-PS Booster (PSB) charge-exchange injection system will allow to transform the L4 160 MeV H$^-$ beam into H$^+$, which will be injected into the four PSB superposed rings. For this, a 200 µg/cm$^2$ carbon stripping foil will convert negative hydrogen ions (H$^-$) into protons by stripping off the electrons. [...]

Linac4 Beam Characterization before Injection into the CERN PS Booster
/ Mikulec, B (CERN) ; Bellodi, G (CERN) ; Eshraqi, M (CERN) ; Hanke, K (CERN) ; Hermanns, T (CERN) ; Lombardi, A M (CERN) ; Raich, U (CERN)
Construction work for the new CERN linear accelerator, Linac4, started in October 2008. Linac4 will replace the existing Linac2 and provide an H− beam at 160 MeV (as opposed to the present 50 MeV proton beam) for injection into the CERN PS Booster (PSB). [...]

Commissioning of the CERN LINAC4 BPM System with 50 Mev Proton Beamns
/ Tan, J (CERN) ; Ludwig, M (CERN) ; Søby, L (CERN) ; Sordet, M (CERN) ; Wendt, M (CERN)
The new Linac4 at CERN will provide a 160 MeV H- ion beam for charge-exchange injection into the existing CERN accelerator complex. Shorted stripline pick-ups placed in the Linac intertank regions and the transfer lines will measure beam orbit, relative beam current, beam phase, and average beam energy via the time-of-flight between two pickups.
