Study of $B^{-}\to DK^-\pi^+\pi^-$ and $B^-\to D\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-$ decays and determination of the CKM angle $\gamma$ / LHCb collaboration
We report a study of the suppressed $B^{-}\to DK^-\pi^+\pi^-$ and favored $B^-\to D\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-$ decays, where the neutral $D$ meson is detected through its decays to the $K^{\mp}\pi^{\pm}$ and $CP$-even $K^+K^-$ and $\pi^+\pi^-$ final states. First observation of the decays $\overline{B}^0 \to D^+ K^- \pi^+ \pi^-$ and $B^- \to D^0 K^- \pi^+ \pi^-$ / LHCb Collaboration
First observations of the Cabibbo suppressed decays $\bar{B}^0\to D^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ and $B^-\to D^0K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ are reported using 35~pb$^{-1}$ of data collected with the LHCb detector. Their branching fractions are measured with respect to the corresponding Cabibbo favored decays, from which we obtain ${\cal{B}}(\bar{B}^0\to D^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-)/{\cal{B}}(\bar{B}^0\to D^+\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-)=(5.9\pm1.1\pm0.5)\times10^{-2}$ and ${\cal{B}}(B^-\to D^0K^-\pi^+\pi^-)/{\cal{B}}(B^-\to D^0\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-)=(9.4\pm1.3\pm0.9)\times10^{-2}$, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Determination of the $X(3872)$ meson quantum numbers / LHCb collaboration
The quantum numbers of the $X(3872)$ meson are determined to be $J^{PC} = 1^{++}$ based on angular correlations in $B^+\to X(3872) K^+$ decays, where $X(3872)\to \pi^+\pi^- J/\psi$ and $J/\psi \to\mu^+\mu^-$. Observation of the decay $\Xi_b^- \to p K^-K^-$ / LHCb Collaboration
Decays of the $\Xi_b^-$ and $\Omega_b^-$ baryons to the charmless final states $p h^{-}h^{\prime -}$, where $h^{(\prime)}$ denotes a kaon or pion, are searched for with the LHCb detector. First observation of the decays $\bar{B}^0_{(s)}\to D_s^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ and $\bar{B}^0_s\to D_{s1}(2536)^+\pi^-$ / LHCb collaboration
The first observation of the decays $\bar{B}^0_{s}\to D_s^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ and $\bar{B}^0\to D_s^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ are reported using an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$ recorded by the LHCb experiment. The branching fractions, normalized with respect to $\bar{B}^0_{s}\to D_s^+\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-$ and $\bar{B}^0_{s}\to D_s^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$, respectively, are measured to be $\frac{B(\bar{B}^0_{s}\to D_s^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-)}{B(\bar{B}^0_{s}\to D_s^+\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-)} = (5.2\pm0.5\pm0.3)\times10^{-2}$, $\frac{B(\bar{B}^0\to D_s^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-)}{B(\bar{B}^0_{s}\to D_s^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-)} = 0.54\pm0.07\pm0.07$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. First observation and amplitude analysis of the $B^{-}\to D^{+}K^{-}\pi^{-}$ decay / LHCb collaboration
The $B^{-}\to D^{+}K^{-}\pi^{-}$ decay is observed in a data sample corresponding to $3.0~\rm{fb}^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. Observation of the suppressed ADS modes $B^\pm \to [\pi^\pm K^\mp \pi^+\pi^-]_D K^\pm$ and $B^\pm \to [\pi^\pm K^\mp \pi^+\pi^-]_D \pi^\pm$ / LHCb Collaboration
An analysis of $B^{\pm}\to DK^{\pm}$ and $B^{\pm}\to D\pi^{\pm}$ decays is presented where the $D$ meson is reconstructed in the four-body final state $K^{\pm}\pi^{\mp} \pi^+ \pi^-$. Observation of the $B^0_{s}\to\psi{(2\mathrm{S})}\eta$ and $B^0_{(s)}\to\psi{(2\mathrm{S})}\pi^+\pi^-$ decays / LHCb Collaboration
First observations of the $B^0_s \rightarrow \psi(2S) \eta$, $B^0 \rightarrow \psi(2S) \pi^+ \pi^-$ and $B^0_s \rightarrow \psi(2S) \pi^+ \pi^-$ decays are made using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 $fb^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV. The ratios of the branching fractions of each of the $\psi(2S)$ modes with respect to the corresponding $J/\psi$ decays are \[ \frac{\mathcal{B}(B^0_s \rightarrow \psi(2S) \eta) }{\mathcal{B}(B^0_s \rightarrow J/\psi \eta)} =0.83\pm0.14\,(stat)\pm0.12\,(syst)\pm0.02\,(\mathcal{B}), \] \[ \frac{\mathcal{B}(B^0 \rightarrow \psi(2S) \pi^+ \pi^-)}{\mathcal{B}(B^0 \rightarrow J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-)} =0.56\pm0.07\,(stat)\pm0.05\,(syst)\pm0.01\,(\mathcal{B}), \] \[ \frac{\mathcal{B}(B^0_s \rightarrow \psi(2S) \pi^+ \pi^-)}{\mathcal{B}(B^0_s \rightarrow J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-)} =0.34\pm0.04\,(stat)\pm0.03\,(syst)\pm0.01\,(\mathcal{B}), \] where the third uncertainty corresponds to the uncertainties of the dilepton branching fractions of the $J/\psi$ and $\psi$(2S) meson decays..
