Multi-section fission ionization chamber for measurement of 239Pu(n,γ) reaction in fission tagging method
/ Perkowski, J (Lodz U.) ; Alcayne, V (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Andrzejewski, J (Lodz U.) ; Cano-Ott, D (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Gawlik-Ramięga, A (Lodz U.) ; Mendoza, E (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Sánchez-Caballero, A (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Sibbens, G (Geel, JRC) ; Vanleeuw, D (Geel, JRC) ; Aberle, O (CERN) et al.
The 239Pu(n,γ) reaction cross section is very important for operation of both thermal and fast reactors, when loaded with MOX fuels. According to the NEA/OECD High Priority Request List the precision of cross section data for this reaction should be improved. [...]

Measurement of the neutron capture cross section of the fissile isotope $^{235}$U with the CERN n_TOF Total Absorption Calorimeter and a fission tagging based on micromegas detectors
/ Mendoza, E (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Balibrea, J (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Cano-Ott, D (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Guerrero, C (CERN) ; Berthoumieux, E (Saclay) ; Altstadt, S (Goethe U., Frankfurt (main)) ; Andrzejewski, J (Lodz U.) ; Audouin, L (Orsay, IPN) ; Barbagallo, M (INFN, Bari) ; Bécares, V (Madrid, CIEMAT) et al.
Actual and future nuclear technologies require more accurate nuclear data on the (n, $\gamma$) cross sections and $\alpha$-ratios of fissile isotopes. Their measurement presents several difficulties, mainly related to the strong fission $\gamma$-ray background competing with the weaker $\gamma$-ray cascades used as the experimental signature of the (n, $\gamma$) process. $^{92}$Zr($n,\gamma$) and ($n$,tot) measurements at the GELINA and n_TOF facilities
/ n_TOF Collaboration
Background: Stellar nucleosynthesis of elements heavier than iron is driven by neutron capture processes. 92Zr
is positioned at a strategic point along the slow nucleosynthesis path, given its proximity to the neutron magic
number N = 50 and its position at the matching region between the weak and main slow processes.
Purpose: In parallel with recent improved astronomical data, the extraction of accurate Maxwellian averaged
cross sections (MACSs) derived from a more complete and accurate set of resonance parameters should allow
for a better understanding of the stellar conditions at which nucleosynthesis takes place.
Methods: Transmission and capture cross section measurements using enriched 92Zr metallic samples were
performed at the time-of flight facilities GELINA of JRC-Geel (BE) and n_TOF of CERN (CH). [...]

Neutron capture and total cross-section measurements on $^{94,95,96}$Mo at n_TOF and GELINA
/ n_TOF Collaboration
Capture and total cross section measurements for 94,95,96Mo have been performed at the neutron time-of-flight facilities, n_TOF at CERN and GELINA at JRC-Geel. The measurements were performed using isotopically enriched samples with an enrichment above 95% for each of the 94,95,96Mo isotopes. [...]

The new vertical neutron beam line at the CERN n_TOF facility design and outlook on the performance
/ n_TOF Collaboration
At the neutron time-of-flight facility n_TOF at CERN a new vertical beam line was constructed in 2014, in order to extend the experimental possibilities at this facility to an even wider range of challenging cross-section measurements of interest in astrophysics, nuclear technology and medical physics. The design of the beam line and the experimental hall was based on FLUKA Monte Carlo simulations, aiming at maximizing the neutron flux, reducing the beam halo and minimizing the background from neutrons interacting with the collimator or back-scattered in the beam dump..
