Single-electron and single-photon sensitivity with a silicon Skipper CCD / Tiffenberg, Javier (Fermilab) ; Sofo-Haro, Miguel (Fermilab ; Balseiro Inst., San Carlos de Bariloche) ; Drlica-Wagner, Alex (Fermilab) ; Essig, Rouven (YITP, Stony Brook) ; Guardincerri, Yann (Fermilab) ; Holland, Steve (LBL, Berkeley) ; Volansky, Tomer (Tel Aviv U.) ; Yu, Tien-Tien (CERN) /SENSEI Collaboration
We have developed a non-destructive readout system that uses a floating-gate amplifier on a thick, fully depleted charge coupled device (CCD) to achieve ultra-low readout noise of 0.068 e- rms/pix. This is the first time that discrete sub-electron readout noise has been achieved reproducibly over millions of pixels on a stable, large-area detector. [...]

SENSEI: First Direct-Detection Constraints on sub-GeV Dark Matter from a Surface Run / Crisler, Michael (Fermilab) ; Essig, Rouven (YITP, Stony Brook) ; Estrada, Juan (Fermilab) ; Fernandez, Guillermo (Fermilab) ; Tiffenberg, Javier (Fermilab) ; Sofo haro, Miguel (Fermilab ; Centro Atomico Bariloche) ; Volansky, Tomer (Princeton, Inst. The Sub-Electron-Noise Skipper CCD Experimental Instrument (SENSEI) uses the recently developed Skipper-CCD technology to search for electron recoils from the interaction of sub-GeV dark matter particles with electrons in silicon. We report first results from a prototype SENSEI detector, which collected 0.019 gram-days of commissioning data above ground at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. [...]

From Inclusive to Semi-Inclusive One-Nucleon Knockout in Neutrino Event Generators / Nikolakopoulos, Alexis (Fermilab) ; Gardiner, Steven (Fermilab) ; Papadopoulou, Afroditi (Argonne) ; Dolan, Stephen (CERN) ; González-Jiménez, Raúl (Madrid U.)
In neutrino event generators, for models for neutrino and electron scattering only inclusive cross sections are implemented. When these models are used to describe a semi-inclusive cross section, the event generator attaches the hadron variables based on some assumptions. [...]

(Fermilab) ; Green, D.R. (Fermilab) ; Hirschauer, J. (Fermilab) et al.
We describe a proposal to add a set of very forward detectors to the CMS experiment for the high-luminosity era of the Large Hadron Collider to search for beyond the standard model long-lived particles, such as dark photons, heavy neutral leptons, axion-like particles, and dark Higgs bosons. The proposed subsystem is called FACET for Forward-Aperture CMS ExTension, and will be sensitive to any particles that can penetrate at least 50 m of magnetized iron and decay in an 18 m long, 1 m diameter vacuum pipe.
