An investigation on stochastic deflection of high-energy charged particles in a bent crystal was carried out. In particular, we investigated the deflection efficiency under axial confinement of both positively and negatively charged particles as a function of the crystal orientation, the choice of the bending plane, and of the charge sign. (Catania U. ; INFN, Milan) ; Charitonidis, N. (CERN) ; D'Alessandro, G.L. (CERN) ; De Salvador, D. (INFN, Legnaro ; Padua U.) et al.
We have observed a significant enhancement in the energy deposition by $25$--$100~\mathrm{GeV}$ photons in a $1~\mathrm{cm}$ thick tungsten crystal oriented along its $\langle 111 \rangle$ lattice axes. At $100~\mathrm{GeV}$, this enhancement, with respect to the value observed without axial alignment, is more than twofold. [...]

Coded masks for imaging of neutrino events / NU@FNAL Collaboration
The capture of scintillation light emitted by liquid Argon and Xenon under molecular excitations by charged particles is still a challenging task. Here we present a first attempt to design a device able to grab sufficiently high luminosity in order to reconstruct the path of ionizing particles. [...]

The experimental setup of the Interaction in Crystals for Emission of RADiation collaboration at Mainzer Mikrotron: Design, commissioning, and tests / Lietti, D (Insubria U., Como) ; Backe, H (Mainz U., Inst. Kernphys.) ; Bagli, E (Ferrara U. ; INFN, Ferrara) ; Bandiera, L (Ferrara U. ; INFN, Ferrara) ; Berra, A (Insubria U., Como ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Carturan, S (Padua U. ; INFN, Legnaro) ; De Salvador, D (Padua U. ; INFN, Legnaro) ; Germogli, G (Ferrara U. ; INFN, Ferrara) ; Guidi, V (Ferrara U. ; INFN, Ferrara) ; Lauth, W (Mainz U., Inst. Kernphys.) et al.
Silicon/germanium flat/bent crystals are thin devices able to efficiently deflect charged particle GeV-energy beams up to a few hundreds of μrad; moreover, high intensity photons can be efficiently produced in the so-called Multi-Volume Reflection (MVR) and Multiple Volume Reflections in One Crystal (MVROC) conditions. In the last years, the research interest in this field has moved to the dynamic studies of light negative leptons in the low energy range: the possibility to deflect negative particles and to produce high intensity γ sources via the coherent interactions with crystals in the sub-GeV energy range has been proved by the ICE-RAD (Interaction in Crystals for Emission of RADiation) Collaboration at the MAinzer MIkrotron (MAMI, Germany). (Ferrara U. ; INFN, Ferrara) ; De Salvador, D. (INFN, Padua ; Padua U.) et al.
We measured a considerable increase of the emitted radiation by 120 GeV/c electrons in an axially oriented lead tungstate scintillator crystal, if compared to the case in which the sample was not aligned with the beam direction. This enhancement resulted from the interaction of particles with the strong crystalline electromagnetic field. [...]

We propose a unique program of measurements of electric and magnetic dipole moments of charm, beauty and strange charged baryons at the LHC, based on the phenomenon of spin precession of channeled particles in bent crystals. Studies of crystal channeling and spin precession of positively- and negatively-charged particles are presented, along with feasibility studies and expected sensitivities for the proposed experiment using a layout based on the LHCb detector..

Monitored beams for high-precision neutrino flux determination: The ENUBET project / Brizzolari, C (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Acerbi, F (Fond. The knowledge of initial flux, energy and flavour of current neutrino beams is currently the main limitation for a precise measurement of neutrino crosssections. The ENUBET ERC project (2016–2021) is studying a facility based on a narrow-band neutrino beam capable of constraining the neutrino flux normalization through the monitoring of the associated charged leptons in an instrumented decay tunnel.
