The Bell-Steinberger unitarity relation is used along with the experimental data available to calculate the parameter of the CPT violation, Delta , and that of the T violation, epsilon , in the decays of K/sup 0/ mesons. It is shown that if the CP violation in three-pion decays of K/sup 0/ mesons is not greater than in two-pion decays, then the parameters Re Delta and Im Delta differ from zero by two standard deviations. T and CPT violation in the neutral-kaon system / Dejardin, M (CERN) /CPLEAR Collaboration
The CPLEAR experiment measured decay rates of initially pure strangeness-tagged neutral kaons into hadronic and semileptonic final states. From these decay rates, parameters describing T and CPT violation have been measured to a high precision: Analysing semileptonic decays makes it possible to tag the kaon strangeness at the decay time and thus to compare K/sup 0/ to K/sup 0/ and K/sup 0/ to K/sup 0/ transition rates. Tests of CPT with CPLEAR / Mikuz, M (CERN) /CPLEAR Collaboration
Measurements of K/sup 0//K/sup 0/ time dependent asymmetries in pionic and semileptonic decays with the CPLEAR detector enabled a complete determination of CPT violation parameters in the neutral kaon system. A global fit using the Bell-Steinberger relation yielded values for the CPT violation parameter in K/sup 0/ mixing Im( delta ) =(2.4+or-5.0)*10/sup -5/ and Re( delta )=(2.4+or-2.8)*10/sup -4/, the determination of the latter relying essentially on CPLEAR measurements. The CPLEAR experiment at CERN has directly studied matter and antimatter symmetries via the measurement of the time evolution of K /sup 0/ and K/sup 0/.
