The study of Soft X-ray emission can be a source of fundamental information, particularly for what concerns tokamaks and plasma diagnostics, but also in general in the fields of high energy and nuclear physics. Detection systems based on Gas Electron Multipliers (GEM) technology can be of particular use in the context of X-ray analyses, being relatively low cost while maintaining good spatial and temporal resolution and capability to sustain high counting rates (up to MHz/mm2). Silicon Carbide characterization at the n_TOF spallation source with quasi-monoenergetic fast neutrons / SICILIA Collaboration
Silicon Carbide (SiC) is a relatively new entry in the world of solid-state detectors. Although SiC response to neutrons is more complex than the one obtained with diamonds, the measured energy resolution (FWHM/ Ed<4%) makes SiC an interesting alternative to diamond and silicon detectors for fast neutrons. Characterisation of a medium-size-area high-rate multi-layer boron-coated GEM detector for thermal neutrons / Cancelli, Stephanie (Milan Bicocca U. ; INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Bari U.) ; Muraro, Andrea (Bari U.) ; Murtas, Fabrizio (CERN ; Frascati) ; Cippo, Enrico Perelli (Bari U.) ; Altieri, Saverio (INFN, Pavia) ; Caruggi, Federico (Milan Bicocca U. ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; De Oliveira, Rui (CERN) ; Gorini, Giuseppe (Milan Bicocca U. ; INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Bari U.) ; Grosso, Giovanni (Bari U.) ; Lai, Chung-Chuan (ESS, Lund) et al.
During the last 10 years, the $^{3}$He crisis has brought to the development of new thermal neutron detection technologies and one of them is based on gas electron multiplier (GEM) principle. To detect neutrons, standard triple GEM detectors are usually coupled with a suitable converter, such as a $^{10}$B$_{4}$C, where neutrons are converted via the nuclear reaction $^{10}$B(n,$\alpha $)$^{7}$Li. Ultrafast nanocomposite scintillators based on Cd-enhanced CsPbCl$_3$ nanocrystals in polymer matrix / Erroi, Andrea (Milan Bicocca U.) ; Carulli, Francesco (Milan Bicocca U.) ; Cova, Francesca (Milan Bicocca U.) ; Frank, Isabel (CERN ; Munich U.) ; Zaffalon, Matteo L. (Milan Bicocca U.) ; Llusar, Jordi ; Mecca, Sara (Milan Bicocca U.) ; Cemmi, Alessia (ENEA, Rome) ; Di Sarcina, Ilaria (ENEA, Rome) ; Rossi, Francesca (CNR, Italy) et al.
Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (LHP-NCs) embedded in polymer matrices are gaining traction for next-generation radiation detectors. While progress has been made on green-emitting CsPbBr$_3$ NCs, scant attention has been given to the scintillation properties of CsPbCl$_3$ NCs, which emit size-tunable UV-blue light matching the peak efficiency of ultrafast photodetectors. The ENUBET ERC project, also included in the CERN Neutrino Platform as NP06/ENUBET, is developing a new neutrino beam based on conventional techniques in which the flux and the flavor composition are known with unprecedented precision (O (1%)). Such a goal is accomplished monitoring the associated charged leptons produced in the decay region of the ENUBET facility. [...]

Monitored neutrino beams are facilities where beam diagnostics enable the counting and identification of charged leptons in the decay tunnel of a narrow band beam. These facilities can monitor neutrino production at the single particle level (flux precision %) and provide information about the neutrino energy at the 10% level. [...]

The next generation of neutrino experiments requires measurements of absolute neutrino cross sections at the GeV scale with high precision (∼1%) presently limited by the uncertainties on neutrino flux. Monitoring the lepton production in the decay tunnel of neutrino beams is the most straightforward way to measure the neutrino flux at source. [...]

ENUBET: High Precision Neutrino Flux Measurements in Conventional Neutrino Beams / Pupilli, Fabio (INFN, Padua) ; Ballerini, G (Insubria U., Como ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Berra, A (Insubria U., Como ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Boanta, R (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Bonesini, M (INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Brizzolari, C (Insubria U., Como ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Brunetti, G (INFN, Padua) ; Calviani, M (CERN) ; Carturan, S (INFN, Legnaro) ; Catanesi, M G (INFN, Bari) et al.
The ENUBET project aims at demonstrating that the systematics in neutrino fluxes from conventional beams can be reduced to 1% by monitoring positrons from K$_{e3}$ decays in an instrumented decay tunnel, thus allowing a precise measurement of the $\nu_e$ (and $\overline{\nu}_e$) cross section. This contribution will report the results achieved in the first year of activities. [...]

Shashlik calorimeters equipped with a compact readout based on Silicon PhotoMultipliers can be longitudinally segmented by directly coupling the WLS fibers with the photosensors thus embedding the readout in the bulk of the calorimeter. Results on energy resolution and particle identification for such calorimeters are presented. [...]
