System size dependence of particle-ratio fluctuations in Pb+Pb collisions at 158$A$ GeV / NA49 collaboration
New measurements by the NA49 experiment of the centrality dependence of event-by-event fluctuations of the particle yield ratios (K$^{+}$+K$^{-}$)/($\pi^{+}+\pi^{-}$), (p+$\bar{\text p}$)/($\pi^{+}+\pi^{-}$), and (K$^{+}$+K$^{-}$)/(p+$\bar{\text p}$) are presented for Pb+Pb collisions at 158$A$ GeV. The absolute values of the dynamical fluctuations of these ratios, quantified by the measure $\sigma_{\text{dyn}}$, increase by about a factor of two from central to semi-peripheral collisions. [...]

Onset of deconfinement and search for the critical point of strongly interacting matter at CERN SPS energies / for the NA49 collaboration
The exploration of the QCD phase diagram particularly the search for a phase transition from hadronic to partonic degrees of freedom and possibly a critical endpoint, is one of the most challenging tasks in present heavy-ion physics. As observed by the NA49 experiment, several hadronic observables in central Pb+Pb collisions at the CERN SPS show qualitative changes in their energy dependence. [...]

Upper Limit of D0 Production in Central Pb-Pb Collisions at 158A GeV / NA49 Collaboration
Results are presented from a search for the decays D0 -> Kmin piplus and D0bar -> Kplus pimin in a sample of 3.8x10^6 central Pb-Pb events collected with a beam energy of 158A GeV by NA49 at the CERN SPS. No signal is observed. [...]

Antideuteron and deuteron production in mid-central Pb+Pb collisions at 158$A$ GeV / NA49 collaboration
Production of deuterons and antideuterons was studied by the NA49 experiment in the 23.5% most central Pb+Pb collisions at the top SPS energy of $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=17.3 GeV. Invariant yields for $\bar{d}$ and $d$ were measured as a function of centrality in the center-of-mass rapidity range $-1.2<y<-0.6$. [...]

$\Omega$ and $\bar{\Omega}$ production in central Pb+Pb collisions at 40 and 158 AGeV / NA49 Collaboration
Results are presented on Omega production in central Pb+Pb collisions at 40 and 158 AGeV beam energy. Given are transverse-mass spectra, rapidity distributions, and total yields for the sum Omega+Antiomega at 40 AGeV and for Omega and Antiomega separately at 158 AGeV. [...]

System-size and centrality dependence of charged kaon and pion production in nucleus-nucleus collisions at 40A GeV and158A GeV beam energy / NA49 Collaboration
Measurements of charged pion and kaon production are presented in centrality selected Pb+Pb collisions at 40A GeV and 158A GeV beam energy as well as in semi-central C+C and Si+Si interactions at 40A GeV. Transverse mass spectra, rapidity spectra and total yields are determined as a function of centrality. [...]

Energy dependence of kaon-to-proton ratio fluctuations in central Pb+Pb collisions from $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 6.3 to 17.3 GeV / NA49 Collaboration
Kaons and protons carry large parts of two conserved quantities, strangeness and baryon number. It is argued that their correlation and thus also fluctuations are sensitive to conditions prevailing at the anticipated parton-hadron phase boundary. [...]
