Single-longitudinal-mode pumped pulsed-dye amplifier for high-resolution laser spectroscopy / Verlinde, M (Leuven U.) ; Ferrer, R (Leuven U.) ; Claessens, A (Leuven U.) ; Granados, C A (Leuven U. ; CERN) ; Kraemer, S (Leuven U.) ; Kudryavtsev, Yu (Leuven U.) ; Li, D (Unlisted, DE) ; Van den Bergh, P (Leuven U.) ; Van Duppen, P (Leuven U.) ; Verstraelen, E (Leuven U.)
The In-Gas-jet Laser Ionization and Spectroscopy (IGLIS) technique relies on narrow-bandwidth, high-peak-power, short-pulse-length (≈10 ns), and high-repetition-rate laser pulses to probe, precisely and efficiently, the hyperfine structure of medium-heavy and heavy isotopes, embedded in a supersonic jet. The power and repetition rate requirements of the laser system are met by combining ≈100 W, 8 ns pulse width, 10 kHz commercial Nd:YAG pump lasers with a single-mode continuous wave seeded Pulsed Dye Amplifier (PDA). Observation of the radiative decay of the ${}^{229}\mathrm{Th}$ nuclear clock isomer / Kraemer, Sandro (Leuven U. ; LMU Munich (main)) ; Moens, Janni (Leuven U.) ; Athanasakis-Kaklamanakis, Michail (Leuven U. ; CERN) ; Bara, Silvia (Leuven U.) ; Beeks, Kjeld (Vienna, Tech. The nucleus of the radioisotope thorium-229 (${}^{229}$Th) features an isomer with an exceptionally low excitation energy that enables direct laser manipulation of nuclear states. For this reason, it is a leading candidate for use in next-generation optical clocks. [...]

Investigation of Photo Neutralization Efficiency of High Intensity H-Beam with Nd:YAG Laser for J-PARC / Tomisawa, T ; Akikawa, H ; Hasegawa, K ; Kondo, Y ; Oigawa, H ; Sato, S ; Ueno, A
The photo neutralization method with Nd:YAG laser for negative hydrogen ions has been considered as an available candidate for beam intensity profile monitor and charge exchange procedure for Accelerator-Driven-System (ADS) in J-PARC. An electron of H-beam can be stripped by fast and intense Nd:YAG (1064nm) laser with non-destructive, and laser system have advantages of maintenance and radiation hardness in high intensity proton accelerators. Bunch Length Measurements at the SLS Linac Using Electro Optical Sampling / Steffen, Bernd ; Casalbuoni, Sara ; Schmüser, Peter ; Simrock, Stefan
The temporal profile of the electron bunches in the SLS Linac was determined by means of electro-optical techniques. In a first experiment a mode locked Ti:Sa Laser with 15 fs pulse width (FWHM) was used for coincidence and sampling measurements between the laser pulse and the coherent transition radiation (CTR) generated by short electron bunches.
