Unknown structure of the Chephren pyramid / Kempa, Janusz (Warsaw U. of Tech. (main)) ; Brylinski, Wojciech (Warsaw U. of Tech. (main)) ; Wyszynski, Oskar (CERN)
The Cheops and Chephren pyramid have been in Giza for about 3500 years. Their view is enjoyed by many people around the world who ask questions: how and why were the pyramids built? Cheops and Chephren pyramids are very similar on the outside [...]

School, Plock) ; Knapp, Lise (Ecole second. Cath., Cambridge, Ontario) et al.
We are a group of teachers who have independently participated in the CERN Beamline for Schools (BL4S) competition with teams of high school students from our schools between 2014 and 2021. All of our teams won the competition, and therefore our students had the opportunity to perform their proposed experiments at a particle accelerator. [...]

A low-cost Cherenkov detector to be tested in CERN's T9 beam line / Felici, Maria Rita (Unlisted, IT) ; Cameli, Luca (Unlisted, IT ; INFN, Rome) ; Camilli, Alessandro (Unlisted, IT) ; Castelli, Vanessa (Unlisted, IT) ; Catalini, Francesco (Unlisted, IT) ; Cipolletti, Samuele (Unlisted, IT) ; Crescenzi, Federico (Unlisted, IT) ; Decembrini, Niccolò (Unlisted, IT) ; De Paolis, Aurora (Unlisted, IT) ; Fattenotte, Francesco (Unlisted, IT) et al.
The TCO-Asa is a 2015 established team of high-school students of the Liceo Scientifico T. Calzecchi Onesti, in Fermo (Italy), who built a detector instrumented by consumer components including a CMOS camera and a silicon photomultiplier readout by the open-source ArduSiPM kit, to study the Cherenkov effect in water. This proceeding presents the main activities of the students that included the definition of the geometry of the detector, the realisation of the structure prepared by Scanny3D, the optimisation of the coupling between the water and the sensors, the experiences with 18F (prepared by Acom SRL) and 226Rd radioactive sources, and the results of the tests performed at the Beam Test Facility in INFN-Frascati in 2016.The team proposed to expose the detector to a test beam at CERN in 2016 and in 2017 within the Beamline for School initiative.
